NBA viewership is close to pre-pandemic #s. There was a bit of a dip after the warriors dynasty pulled away from everyone and LeBron left for LA, but that was a crazy time.
The parity has changed the league though. With us & Sacramento getting our shit together there aren't many hopelessly dumb teams to take advantage of; while between the flattened lottery odds & the play-in, there's less tanking than before, meaning contenders can't load up the way they could 5+ years ago so those heavyweights are more flawed when they go toe-to-toe in the playoffs.
But I'm thoroughly enjoying it. The East hasn't been this good & competitive since the 90s.
We'll (most likely) need an upgrade eventually, but thibs has really been the least of our problems. We don't have the talent to win without a strong defense and he's been good with our kids.
Definitely need to upgrade one or two of Brunson / Barrett / Randle to a Tatum / Luka / Zion caliber #1 to ever contend, but we've got the draft capital to buy someone like Anunoby and do that if one of those top 10 guys asks out.
