We may have gotten ourselves a player here in Quickley.

What is impressive about him is that there is no fear in his game. He attacks the basket and takes shots he knows he has. It's only a matter of time until he is the starter, but I can see sheltering him for a while longer while he gets more practice time and development before adding the responsibility of being the guy.

The next step for this franchise is to find his backup. Payton is not the guy for that role. I don't think there is a shortage on good backup point guards. Finding someone that can shoot the three and be able to defend should be on their radar. The good news is that it feels like they finally have someone that could be running the point for a while.

How come not Payton as a back up? I think that's a good role for him.

To me, the ideal situation for him to be the backup for this squad is that he'll need 4 guys that can stretch the floor when he has the ball in his hands, since he is not a threat from distance. The Knicks would need to either go small or add a stretch 5 to their pool of players for it to be effective. Finding a good stretch 5 is tough, so I believe the easier move is to find a different point guard that can stretch the floor.

It would be nice to win the lottery and pick up Mobley in this draft.

Nice win and all, but letting Elfried Payton run the show down the stretch and take 20 crunch time shots was making my head spin.

I'm kind of with you on this one...Payton who is not a bad player, gets me nervous as heck during crunch time. Quickley on the other hand...I get the opposite effect. Just give Quickley the starting gig already...he's earned it....sheeeshee!

I'll tell ya what and never thought I'd say this this season let alone at this point of the season 20 games in, but if the Knicks continue to hang around the periphery of .500 and one of those last playoff spots...currently the Knicks are 9th but only a game back of Atlanta who occupies the 6th spot in the watered down East, it wouldn't totally shock me if Rose and Perry, come trade deadline time, don't decide to trade for an asset rather than be trading them away.

And when was the last time that ever occurred here in Knickland? Decades ago is the answer...lol.

In all seriousness, I like the resiliency of this Knick team...I really do. They lose a tough game the other night that they could have won had they played a bit better in the last few minutes and than they come back last night with a nice and tidy W which wasn't as close as the score indicated as Knicks dominated all night.

Knicks have been doing that all year. I dunno...me likey what's going on here fer sure!...

11-13 through the 1/3 mark of the seasonfor the Knicks. 6th seed currently in the East. This has gone about as well as anyone could have expected.

Feel like this month has a bunch of winnable games and they're going to need to cash in. The 2nd half schedule is going to be more intense. If they want to compete for a spot, winning these games this month will be important.

Plus, Dallas is currently in the lottery

DSJ career seems to be over or in the balance of being over. It's a shame because his rookie year was pretty special. Never developed his perimeter game.

As for Rose, I hope this doesn't eat into Quickley's time, but it does give another viable option if they want to go small ball. Rose was already coming off the bench for Detroit, so I don't think that will change.

Knicks Heat in a good one. Let's see if Knicks can get a few stops and win this sucker!

Quickley is so friggen good. Could be best Knick draft pick in last 20 years....seriously!

I am not exited about the Rose trade. I know Thibs loves him but it is a marginal upgrade and I didnt enjoy the Rose experience the first time around.

Not a fan of the Rose trade. This is all Thibs. The guy is one of the worst defenders I’ve ever seen. I guess the only silver lining is that we didn’t trade the Detroit second rounder which is currently 31 overall but still makes no sense and will take time away from Quickley

So long as Quickley's playing time and role doesn't change, I'm more than OK with the Rose pickup seeing Rose would be one of the few guys the Knicks would have who can create his own shot and we need a guy who can do that.

I mean in reality we gave up shit for Rose and so I'm more than good with that.

Hopefully Thibs takes some of Payton's time away and not Quickley with the addition of Rose...that's the bottom line for me.

Payton at least plays defense. But it looks they are looking to trade him
