Wonder what this means for that crap sandwich masn deal with the Nats ?
Hopefully there could be a reset the discussion of the whole MASN subject. Seems pretty obvious that the MASN deal is a boat anchor on a potential Nationals deal.

I wonder if Ted enters the picture again to buy the Nats if he can put the Nats games on MSN. $200 a year fee for MSN seems alot better for Nats and caps games season pass. He might just bid for a TV deal ifs the local rights are up for the taking.

This is SO huge for Orioles fan. It’s prob why the team has been a little “stymied” on trades and player signings.

Hopefully Elias gets a greenlight to GO FOR IT

More than a little. Angelos family have refused to spend with NY and BOS (and even TOR) for decades. 2nd lowest payroll in MLB for 2024 and 2023, and lowest for years before that.

Trey Mancini should've been allowed to stay an Oriole for as long as he wanted.

Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari?

Does anybody care about that around here?
I don't really watch F1 outside of that Netflix show but even I thought that was pretty surprising and interesting. No idea what it means but I will be casually interested if I keep hearing about it

Ah man you should watch F1 races. They're great. No commercials. Done in like an hour.

Of course, the way MASN is resolved will have massive implications for the Orioles and the Nationals. As a separate business independent of the team, David Rubenstein can keep the network as is, sell it or do whatever else he wants with it. He can choose to fight the Nationals in court for a dozen years like the Angeloses, and keep the MASN rights fees issues on a perpetual loop — although that, fortunately, seems unlikely.

And while Major League Baseball can put restrictions into any team sale, it wouldn’t benefit them to tie a clear resolution of MASN into any Orioles approval. What if Rubenstein declines and the entire Orioles sale is left in purgatory with the Angelos family?

Even if Rubenstein turns around and sells MASN to an interested party — let’s say Washington Wizards, Capitals and Mystics owner Ted Leonsis, who has inquired about buying MASN before, as well as the Nationals — it won’t change the Nationals’ valuation. But it could incentivize Leonsis to sweeten his deal a bit. It would also be a lot tidier for the league if the Orioles no longer held the Nationals’ TV rights.

Happy to get Burnes, I think he's exactly what they need. Sure, I wish I could count on him being in Baltimore for several years to come, but if he was still under long term control they likely wouldn't have gotten him.

Hall and Ortiz are legit.

Halls fastball has been graded an 80, he's got a great slider too. Only things keeping him from already being a front of the rotation guy are a series of minor health issues and, more importantly, his control has been poor. If the Brewers can get that fixed, they got an awesome starter for up to 6 years. He could easily end up as a top closer too.

Ortiz is known best for outstanding defense, but has a reputation for being a light hitter. He actually is great at putting the barrel on the ball. Doesn't strike out a ton, takes his walks. But he doesn't have much power or speed. It's possible that the line drives that land for him in the minors get caught in the majors. I still think he's a perennial starting SS, though not a top 10 across the league guy.
