You can't waive a player that's not under contract, so the Preds have obviously signed Pardy, likely to replace Matt Irwin, whom they had signed for AHL depth but has played himself into an NHL role. Pardy attended camp with Florida but was re-assigned to their AHL team. He signed a contract with Florida's AHL team but was then traded to Nashville's AHL team where he has been playing this season.

Kinda figured he'd get a contract somewhere this year.

Was surprised when the season started and he didn't.

Good for him for sticking it out.

Good for Pardy. He’s a good option as a 6/7 guy. He’s not very mobile, and that holds him back a lot. If he could skate he’d be a solid top 4 D IMO. if deployed carefully he can play quite successfully in the bottom pair.

As Caley mentioned, Matt Irwin(who has been a complete shock and has spent time on our top pairing with Ryan Ellis out) is basically a full time player on our roster now, and with Bitetto injured again, Pardy will get a shot to provide some additional depth.
