ROR back to Toronto and Tavares can move down to #3C where it's more suitable for him at this stage of his career.
Same age and JT is out performing ROR. Would love ROR back but lets not pretend he's better than JT at this stage.

Ask for Lauzon - or - Schenn @ 50% retained?

I would be surprised if Trotz trades any of "his guys". Realistically, the Preds should have their ears open on just about any veteran player who isn't tied down by a NMC. But when you start to put together the list of players we should at least listen on, there are a lot of them who the organization seems to overvalue and seem likely to want to keep.

The list may narrow down quickly to "just Nyquist". What a fire sale!

I would personally love to dump all of these guys:

Nyquist (impending UFA) - 2nd or 3rd round pick
Sissons (1 more year at $2.857M) - ? having a terrible year and not a Trotz acquisition so maybe?
Carrier (2 more @ $3.75M) - organization seems to like him for some reason
Lauzon (1 more @ $2M) - organization seems to like him for some reason
Schenn (1 more @ $2.75M) - Trotz "identity guy"
Smith (1 more @ $1M) - organization seems to like him for some reason
McCarron (1 more @$900k) - organization seems to like him for some reason
Jankowski (1 more @$800k) - waiver fodder

I could even consider moving these ones for the right offer too, though:
O'Reilly - Trotz won't
Saros - Trotz won't
Novak - Preds are sort of phasing him out already this season

I suspect there will be much more smoke than fire. The real firing should be behind the bench first.

So, don't ask for Schenn ?

My offer would be Barron/Struble and a pick for him.

If both players were willing to waive their NMCs, I'd do Mika for RoR. The Rangers can score a lot of goals but can't keep the puck out of their net.

Unfortunately, I doubt Mika would waive his NMC. Who knows, maybe he decides a change of scenery and going to a smaller market would get good for him. Mika and Forsberg both played on the 2012 WJC Gold medal-winning Sweden team. Maybe the Swedish connection can improve the Predators locker room mix that currently seems to be broken.

3 players of interest for Ottawa

Jonathan Marchessault, Thomas Novak and Alexandre Carrier

Although the cap makes it complicated. In all cases, Sens would need to send Amadio back

What would it cost for each?

Marchessault has a NMC. Novak could be available. Carrier should be available but probably won't be.

I don't think us Preds fans are going to be in a great position to play fantasy GMs on our players yet. They can't really be as bad as they seem under this coach, so we're all more looking to firing the coach as the first step. Once Brunette is out of the way :crossfing , then it will take a little while to re-evaluate which players TRULY should stay or go.

Just off the top, Norris is a player on the Sens we probably would have some interest in. And then since our D is pretty barebones at the moment, any scrap RD you have kicking around would probably help if Carrier was involved... JBD for example.

What will Trotz do to fix this mess in Nashville and what are your offers?

The old adage "it's easier to replace one coach than 20 players" seems to apply, here.

Trotz just did all these personnel changes. Some of these contracts will be hell to move and the players are at their lowest in terms of value.

Trotz needs to find a coach that will get a performance bump out of this lineup. I wouldn't be surprised to see Trotz himself behind the bench as interim.

Something around Graves and Marchessault? Both have trade protections and contracts end in 2029

What would the add be from Pittsburgh? Think futures valued less than a first seems reasonable

I don't think we should be trying to jettison all these players. I am certain March and Stammer can be better than they've been and offer more than what they've shown. However, I don't know that they will be able to improve in this current system...but this system seems to be dogmatically employed by Bruno who Trotz won't move on from. We've come full circle at this point without a clear way to improve, hence the frustration from all the Nashville fan base. Truly a frustrating conversation.

Our idiot management insists on keeping Punch McFace around, and I'd like to see us at least reduce the salary dedicated to that.

Deslauriers and a 4th for McCarron?

Nyquist could fetch something decent, he's still a very solid player as long as he's not expected to carry the mail.

ROR - I really doubt they move him. I wouldn't barring a stupid overpayment.

Marchy and Stammer - I think we're stuck with them for the time being.

Carrier - I would for sure put him out there even though our defense is as thin as paper right now, but I'm not sure Trotz wants to shop him.

Ditto for Lauzon.

Sissons is someone I would dangle around. I think he still has good rep around the league and he's a versatile player. Playoff performer, too. Has another year on his cheap deal as well. Could garner some interest, and I would move him.

Novak - would move him but is there going to be any takers anymore with the season he's having?

So, we don't have a lot to sell, but something still.

It's not good I tell ya. I guess he has positive presence being around the team in the locker room but unfortunately Father Time has caught up to him as far as on-ice performance goes. Even though I dislike the Blues, I think you'll be better off without him.
Fair enough.
