This is how I see the Canadian WJC team stacking up...

Goalies:
Marc Andre Fleury
Jeff Druin-Deslauriers

Defense:
Brayden Coburn
Dion Phaneuf
Brent Seabrook
Kevin Kleinn
Shawn Belle
Ian White
Bruno Gervais

Forwards:
Jeff Carter
Sidney Crosby
Eric Fehr
Corey Perry
Anthony Stewart
Jeff Tambellini
Brent Burns
Stephen Dixon
Ryan Getzlaf
Daniel Paille
Mike Richards
Maxime Talbot
Jeremy Colliton

Lines:

Phaneuf - Coburn
Seabrook - White
Kleinn - Belle
Gervais

Crosby - Carter - Fehr
Tambellini - Richards - Perry
Paille - Getzlaf - Burns (The energy/shut down line)
Talbot - Dixon - Stewart
Colliton

And personally I believe that Daniel Paille is a lock for the captaincy.

I love that top line.

:handclap:

That would be my lineup as well (without possibly Dixon).

Captain: Daniel Paille
Assistant: Ian White
Assistant: Dion Phaneuf

Is Jeremy Swanson at the camp? I would consider him over Klein or Belle.

Jeremy Swanson is there yes, I just havent really seen enough of him to be honest.

I like Kleinn and what he brings to the ice, especially at both ends. He's been playing a lot better in the OHL the past month and I think he'd be quite successful with the large ice.

And well Belle, i just would love to see this guy use the big ice to his advantage.

The only question mark is whether White's ankle is healed enough - my understanding is that he's only just starting to skate now. I agree - I love that top line (I'm kinda partial to the second line too) :)

I would take Josh Gorges on D over Belle (OVERRATED!) and Gervais or whatever any dayt of the year.

Hey Brock, what type of role do you see Phaneuf playing? Top pair? Top defenseman? No. 2? PP? PK?

I expect Phaneuf to play the min for the defense. He was by far the best dmen at the camps in calgary from what I heard showing offense and his bone crunching hits. I expect him to play PK, and even strength with an offensive dmen like White or Belle.

He should play on the PP too. He moves the puck well has a great slapshot. He and Ian White would be deadly.

Captain: Daniel Paille
Assistant: Ian White
Assistant: Dion Phaneuf

Captain: Paille for OHL
Assistant: White for WHL (Or Phaneuf). BUt White got the edge because he is a returnee. But Phaneuf got great leadership qualities tough...
Assistant: Talbot for QMHL..

Burns can also got a letter but he is a long shot...

For there is 5 candidats for 3 spot... (Paille, White, Talbot, Phaneuf, Burns)...

But I guess Paille, White and Talbot are the winners.. for having one player from each league....

Shawn Belle's easily one of the best skaters in junior hockey.

He's not soft either, he plays a good physical game from the 2 games I saw him... Josh Gorges is good as well, but there isn't one aspect of his game that stood out... positively or negatively.

I'll echo the thoughts of the other who answered your question.

I think Phaneuf is going to be the man for Canada at the defensive end. He should play in every situation and has a good shot of getting a letter.

What about Kyle Brodziak? Think he has a chance of making the team?
For some reason I have the feeling that Kyle Brodziak will be this year's Brooks Laich. Come out of nowhere to get first line icetime. I've watched this guy for three years now in the WHL and finally this year he is putting it all together. He was a decent younger player, but not near as highly rated as Colliton or Dawes were at that age.
