This is in favor of Ottawa here,
But HF users will say that is not obviously.
That Edy or savard are garbage bla bla bla.

They get a great D with experience with a great contract. (not a rental)
A shut down center for OTT 3rd lines again with a great contract. (not a rental)
And a foward that is NHL ready to come and help if injuries happens.

Eh I actually think Ottawa does this without much hesitation. Only issue is that we'd have too many D. Savard is probably superfluous but if we could get some value for Hamonic, it would probably be worth doing.

We'd be adding two NHL DMen and a good 3C for under $6m.

Brady - Stutzle - Giroux
Cat - Dvorak - Bath
Motte - Pinto - Jo
Kelly - Kastelic - Watson
Gambrell, Brassard, Norris (injured)

Chabot - Zub
Sanderson - Edmundson
Brannstrom - Savard
Hamonic, Holden, Zaitsev

Why would Ott move Greig?
Certainly not for that salad.

Guhle might get Ott's consideration

My godddd ,
Guhle Greig is logical match,
2 esteemed, high-upside CHL-developed 1st year pros
And Habs have Harris/Xhekaj, Ott has Pinto, both teams balance out emerging youth

Again, what about your concoction is supposed to tempt Ott?

not good trading partners, not at least the crap ideas being counter-offered. Dorion announced the rebuild was done, and yet Ottawa is behind Montreal this year. Not interested in helping ottawa attain it's playoff dreams.

Rather off load some of these vets elsewhere or make Dorion severely overpay - as Hughes regularly does with desperate GMs

MTL : Savard 50%/ Edmundson 50% + Dvorak 50% + RHP/Ylonen + Struble/Norlinder
for
OTT: Ridly Greig + Lassi Thompson
Dvorak at 50% probably quite valuable actually. That’s several years of Montreal retention at 50%

Highly doubt Habs offer that level of retention which makes the rest of this trade trash for Ottawa.

So it’s a misfire. But if Dvorak is really available at 50%, you’d get offers on him that way. Probably good offers.
