MTL : Logan Mailloux/CGY first + Micheal Hage
for
NJ : Simon Nemec, Not sure about his value atm.

Nemec seems to have a hard time making the team atm.
Nemec would sure make the team in MTL right now with is buddy Slaf.
Micheal Hage is a great piece here and Mailloux has good potential as well.
CGY first should be a mid first pick.

Well We don't have someone with Mcleod's and Foote's specialization anymore so Mailloux makes sense.

No Thank You.

Edit- Actually I will go in depth

-Mailloux would be in the exact position as Nemec is and would probably be in the AHL. Doesn't help the team now
- Flames 1st doesn't help the team now
-Michael Hage is a great prospect but he's 2 years away, doesn't help now at all.

If The Devils wanted Mailloux they would have picked him in the draft two picks earlier instead of Stillman. Obviously Mailloux was more talented then a couple of the prospects picked before him but a lot of teams had him on a DND list.

I mean, he’s a recent 1st round pick who stock has only increased since the draft, not sure what you were hoping to prove with this comment.

Nemec’s stock on the other hand, has only dropped, much like Ryan Murray’s did.
I didn't know sending a player back to the AHL because he couldn't stick with the Hab's made their stock rise.

Nemec isn't worth much. Look at his advance stats, right devils fan?? (Sarcasm on)

No one expected Mailloux to be in MTL full time this year. Nemec, on the other hand, was supposed to be a lock for NJ’s top-4, if not top pairing. Meanwhile, he’s getting healthy scratched and lost his roster spot to Jonathan Kovacevic, who MTL shipped out for a 4th round pick.

Nemec played 20 minutes a night in the NHL as a teenage rookie, was one of the best AHL rookies as an 18 year-old straight out of the draft and the Devils have the luxury of slow-playing his development with a really deep blueline when healthy and he’s the guy who has his stock decreased versus the guy who got obliterated in his look-in at the NHL level just recently at age 21?

Comical. And for the record, I think Mailloux is a great prospect and a potential top four guy. But c’mon…

Also…who in the world thought Nemec was going to be a top pairing guy at age 20 for a contender? Bizarre overstatement.

Classic quantity for quality deal that a team never makes unless they are backed into a corner.

Would Habs fans accept Gritysuk + 1st for Demidov? Of course not

Coincidentally, they massively underachieved, missing the playoffs when they were expected to take the next step and contend. Seems like the Devils management wised up and are now using Nemec where he should be used currently (press box).

A really deep blue line that features Kovacevic in the top-4, who was expendable in MTL and shipped out for a mid-round pick?

You really don’t understand the difference between a 2nd overall pick and a 31st? Yes, Mailloux’s stock has increased from 31st in the draft. Yes, Nemec’s stock has fallen from 2nd overall. The fact that they’re both in the same boat currently is not a flattering look for a 2nd overall pick.

You do not appear to know what you are talking about. I’d stop commenting on the New Jersey Devils given your lack of knowledge.
