I wouldn't do it if I was the avs. Remember there are 31 picks/round now. So the 2nd is basically could be the same as a high 3rd if the habs come out of the east.

Size, depth on the wing and Center and can still put up points.

Originally i wanted to ask for grigorenko but figured they wouldn't want DD for him

Does he use his size? Can he backcheck? He had one good season after being bounced around...

The last two seasons he's on a 42-47 point average. Pp time minimal

Decent defensively. Uses size lore then patches if that held

Unlike Colborne, his contract is expiring at the end of the year. I'd do it too but Habs wouldn't do it.

Yeah my bad thought that contract was still up for next year.. this is enticing tho if we don't get into playoffs. I think we have a chance when Dutchy and Landy are there but it's a long shot so yeah I would do it

Realistically, Colborne is a 30 points guy, year in, year out. If he's playing the right side, not much use for us, as we're good to go at that position.

Looks to me he's another third liner and we have our fill of those.

Colborne has played <20 games for the Avs, after signing a 2 year deal as a UFA. Trading him now, for a pick and a cap dump, might not send the best signal to future UFAs who are considering coming to Denver.

So, while the value is good, I'm not sure it's in the Avs best interest to do this yet. Maybe at the TDL, but not yet.

That'd be throwing a 2nd rounder in the garbage. Habs need those at the trade deadline
