The Rat Den
Hello all, looking for a little bit of help. I have a game used Pavel Bure helmet that was purchased from MSG, circa 2001-2003. Unfortuntely I lost the certificate of authenticity. Is there any way I can retrieve a copy of it? Or is there maybe a contact email / phone number that I can call to get it replaced or re-authenticated? I'm not from the NY area so I can't really walk into the store directly.

Thanks in advance -

This is a copy & paste of a Reddit response to someone in the same situation:

"If the company that did the authentication has a database, just print out the verification page from the website and keep it with you to show a potential buyer. Show them how to navigate to that page as well. If they don't have a database, get it authenticated by BAS, PSA, or JSA if it's worth it to you. What company did the original authentication? You may want to get it authenticated by one of the 3 I mentioned regardless."

And a link with basically the same information (about halfway down there's a re-certification section): Can a certificate of authenticity be replaced?

"One solution is to seek re-authentication of the item by experts in the field. Re-authentication involves a thorough examination of the item to establish its authenticity. This process may involve comparing the item with known examples, analyzing materials and techniques used, and consulting with experts in the specific field. Once the item is re-authenticated, a new COA can be issued."

MeiGray also did a lot of authentication for game used Rangers gear during that time, and they generally have a ton of knowledge. So it would be worth reaching out to them either way.
