Has anyone else with Center Ice noticed that the Rangers broadcast is almost never used for their games? I've watched most of the games this year, and I think I've only seen MSG once or twice. They pretty much always show the other team's (and a couple times NBC Sports). For example, tonight it's the Lightning broadcast.

This is the first time I've bought the Center Ice package, but I'd assumed they would just show the home team's broadcast.

inDEMAND, who provides center ice to cable providers, seems to have negotiation issues regarding MSG in HD. DirecTV has every game in HD.

MSG rarely broadcasts in HD I believe is the reason.

MSG broadcasts every game in HD

This has been brought up numerous times in the CI thread.

For whatever reason the MSG broadcast is rarely available. Which is why I stopped buying it.

This is why I tell everyone to get DirecTV if possible, you will get every single game with an MSG feed in HD.

Here in Canada, we actually get to choose the feed if both feeds are available on CI. (Rogers customer). I am really excited by this new feature. :handclap: I haven't missed an MSG broadcast yet!

NHL Center Ice Online and I always get both feeds including MSG in HD. Although tonight's game against PIT vs NJD only getting NBC's feed.

Had Center Ice for my last two years in Buffalo. I noticed this nightly. It was always such a treat the rare night MSG was on, and I'd even pick MSG standard-def over the away teams HD feed on the nights I could

Happy to be back in the home market again.

At least the Tampa announcers are professional...not like the jackasses from Boston we have to listen to on Tuesday. Not looking forward to that (again)

Agreed. I've been pleasantly surprised by Tampa's broadcasts in the two games we've played against them this year. On the other hand, as you said, Boston's is terrible, and Pittsburgh's might be even worse.

MSG broadcasts every game in HD

I watched the first period today over tampas feed and 2nd / 3rd over NYR feed and I have to say that the quality (sound and picture) was MUCH better on the fox sports feed from tampa ..

I noticed that many times when watching Rangers games in the last days/weeks

So whatever MSG is showing us, compared to FS Sun is not HD.

MSG seems to do whatever they could to not give their HD feed to anyone else. On Cablevision, every game is in HD. On FiOS, which is their biggest rival, they didn't give them MSG in HD for a few years, until they lost in court.

This is the biggest reason why I choose GameCenter Live over Center Ice. I will gladly sacrifice a bit of quality (though Comcast's CI feeds are often horrendous) to get Sam and Joe rather than some of the clowns on the other broadcasts.

That is really cr$p because I don't want to watch every NYR game with the feed of the other team just to have a better quality.
It just suxx.

You should try the difference between the TBL and NYR feed from last game, it's really not just a little bit better quality with TBL.

:shakehead

what im pissed about is i cant record a season pass of ranger games with my DVR IO service, all I can do is record 1 game at a time manually. this was never like this, going back to TiVo! any1 have this problem?

Pittsburgh is the worst of the worst. Absolute bottom of the barrel of any broadcasting team I've witnessed. As you can see from my username, I've been exposed to every Philadelphia team as well. They're putrid, nauseating homers. ROOT sports just takes it to a whole new level. Take how much NBC gushes over Pittsburgh and multiply it by 1000.

ROOT, the guys on NESN, and maybe the Caps announcers. All pretty terrible.

Actually with the Caps, Joe B. and Locker aren't even bad. It's just the volume of Joe B. and the accompanying arena noise when the Caps score. Beninati's shrieks and what sounds like a dozen firetrucks crashing into the ****ing building. It's ridiculous.

Just going to throw this into the ring as well.

Rick Jeanneret. Lived in Buffalo for four years. I understand why Sabres fans love him, I really do. But if you're not a Sabres fan, and you're watching a Sabres game... my ****ing God. It is horrible.

Dude is an icon. He is loved in Buffalo and when he retires it's going to be a sad day for hockey, no doubt about it. But I'm so glad I never have to hear him call a game again.

(Would like to take this opportunity to say that I'm glad RJ is in better health these days)
