Feel like Mrazek is not that important in Chicago now. Knight is the future. Soderblom is good. Broissoit is a great backup when healthy.

Could be a very nice trade chip at deadline. What do the Hawks want for him?

Was very good the last couple of years but seems the wheels have fallen off. Unfortunate.

There’s always a chance that he’s simply gone into shell-shocked mode / give-up mode and will be fine on a more functional team - but at his age and salary, teams aren’t going to line-up to find out. Fully-retained and I’m sure somebody will take him on a flier - but the value can’t be much.

That Arvid Soderblom has generally been much, much better behind the same team is not a ringing endorsement of Mrazek.

I'm kind of surprised that he didn't go in Jones deal because as of now Florida has nothing beyond Bob, if he goes down who is the current backup?

It’s been the opposite of last year, Mrazek was really good while Arvid was bad.

He’s just been off this year, loses his net a lot.

I can't see too many teams willing to allocate 4.25M of cap space to a backup (Hawks can't retain any more contracts). They probably just ride three goalies until the offseason and move Mrazek then.

Unless there is a team out there looking for insurance in net with a bad forward with similar cap hit to swap with Hawks

It's weird.. when you expand it to last 2 seasons. Here is the company he keeps. Lots of names on this list that I'd want. Ducks fans want a 1st and prospect for Gibson. Oiler fans want Vej. I feel like playing 89 games in front of the Hawks can do a lot to your stats. They are rebuilding and keep trading away key players for their rebuild (which I think is going very well as they have a 1C, 1G and 1D to build around now going forward).

Career .906 average, Over 450GP. Only 33 which is not old for a goalie. On pace to play over 100 games in last 2 seasons.

Hawks have no use for Pickard as they have too many goalies. Would a Arviddson or Henrique get it done? I'd be more confident with a Stu/Mrazek combo than a Stu/Pickard one. Trade Pickard for a pick after. That negates the cap. Still have Kane coming back. Can use his LTIR for a Dman trade. Give Savoie some more ice time and keep him up to offset losing Henrique or Arviddson.

Would trade Mrazek for Henrique without thinking twice. We need someone who can play C and win a draw

Edmonton has no reason to do that.
Donato isn't getting 11 powerplay points on Edmonton.
Mrazek is useless here.
Donato doesn’t need to be on the PP, he has 18even strengthgoalswhichis the 21st highest in the league ahead of guys like MacKinnon, McDavid, Matthews and Point to name a few.

Arvidsson has struggled this year, so Donato fills his roster spot and Mrazek gives the Oilers an experienced backup who when hot can carry the workload in case Skinner falters. Arvidsson and Mrazek’s contracts are basically a wash.
