I guess all players can, Mathews hasnt scored in 4 games now. He is done. See how silly that sounds.
Matthews can contribute many other things when he is in a scoring slump whereas a goalie has exactly one job…….stop the puck. See how silly your example is. Goalies can go off the cliff way quicker then most forward positions due to the very nature of their jobs.
Groin injuries for goalies can be very troublesome and some goalies never get back to their original form.
The blanket excuse for Mrazek poor showing for the Leafs this year is weak.
Past history is just that……past history has less bearing on today forward, tomorrow forward and the next day forward as some people here might think.

11 million for a guy who wont score again, OK!!

Players can go on slumps but goalies can't, gotcha.

Really was hoping for a bit more out of Mrazek on Saturday I'll be completely honest with you. The team in front of him was absolute trash for 2/3rds of that game, so it's hardly all his fault on the 4GA.

I just would have liked to see a big save or 2 to silence this idiotic fanbase a bit.

He is a quality tendy that just hasn't played nearly enough to get going. It's an incredibly hard thing for a goalie to play as infrequently as he is and expect excellence. I really think he will be better on the second half of the B2B with the devils. We are going to need to lean on him a bunch in February, so hopefully that helps him find a rhythm.

I don't understand why this fanbase consistently loves to jump on players for no need. Petr has played 6 games as a Leaf and people have wanted him off the roster for months now. Give the f***ing guy a break.

I think part of the problem is he is a bit scrambly.

Even when he is making saves you sometimes get nervous, which is probably unfair.

With all the angst and but clenching this team makes you do with boneheaded passes (Marner) and seemingly lax play (Nylander) I think we do well with a very calming force in net.

Now none of this is to say he cant work here, but so far his scrambly nature seems to be the result of a goal against in most games. Against Detroit it was the way over extension of the pads on Nemestikov (sp?) goal where he was just able to shovel it 5 hole. There was no way Vlad was going to pull the puck all the way over to where his left leg went. Maybe he doesnt trust the Leaf player to stop Vlad from doing the move there, but it seemed just like an overreaction.

Though one could say the same thing about armchair estimates about his health.

He's been fine enough to get back to starting games, so I'm not particularly convinced from any suggestions he's physically collapsing. Guys who that happens to (like Lupul) never play games again

Nobody said any thing about physically collapsing but goal tending is such a precise position if his flexibility is even slightly off it will make a big difference.
Maybe that’s why he seems to be flopping and swing in the net so often

He looks a bit shaky when he’s in there but he did his job tonight and that’s all you can ask for.

Side note: who was the other goalie they were rumoured to be in ok this summer? Was it Martin Jones?

Another win by Petr. Just be grateful nobody listened to those who were going to throw in a draft pick to get rid of him.

Now if only Jack would get back on track

He saved our bacon. It’s nice that we have 2 good goalies. Remember sparks ahahahahahaha let’s not

24 hours later is all it takes for your take to age into complete trash

Nope because that was about last night.

Last night he let in 3 goals on 9 shots, a piss poor performance.

Tonight is a completely different night and is not relevant to last night.

Him being solid tonight doesn't mean he wasn't piss poor last night.

Nor does him being piss poor last night mean he hasn't been good tonight
