The defense did nothing for him on it either though. Needs better rebound control, but I think the defense should have been able to bail him out on that one.

Fortunately, I think he did much better with rebound control the rest of the game. It was mostly just that one goal.

Seemed like didn't have confidence his defense would cover the back door play or tie up the guys in front or get to the rebounds so he was going down early and scrambling not to get exposed but let himself vulnerable up top.

Trading Mrazek is an offseason move.

We gonna need him in the playoffs.

If we do and he pulls a groin it is curtains. Rather go with Holtby as backup and let Holland overpay and roll the dice with Mrazek. Of course 35 won't be moved until this summer and if 36 is signed.

im against trading mras this season ,,,,,,, besides cap that we might not even use at the deadline there are no pros.
you wont pick up a better goalie anywhere as a replacement ...... . period full stop.

Reactions: Cpt Maple Leaf
If a team will take him without the Leafs needing to add asset than get rid of him now. Injury prone, doesn't track the puck well, zero composure that makes everything a scramble around the crease......and No, this is not based only on his small sample size as a Leaf......this is his NHL career.

I not saying Joseph Woll is ready or should be in the NHL right now but......Mrazek is not an upgrade over him.

And Holtby can also pull a groin...

i'm always left to wonder if it's Dubie or Shanny who makes the call to the media with a bs story for them to leak

My God, teams lacking goaltending enquiring about a guy who's been a 1A/1B as a potential upgrade

It's a conspiracy, break out the tin foil hats

Is it really that hard to believe that other teams are interested in a player with a well established history? Not everything requires a conspiracy

But unfounded conspiracy's are more fun, I'm positive the CIA is using satellite's to monitor our brainwaves

Look at Montreal and Buffalo...there is definitely a market for goalies now.

Leafs are absolutely right this is an offseason move for them. Unfortunately the market could dry up as more goalies get healthy and fill up the 64 roster spots available.

He shut the door down after the 4th goal against. That post in the end was just the hockey gods rewarding the recovery

Give him some more games to get that ugly rust out. I'm pretty sure that's not his norm.

edit- oh wait you guys bumped this to talk about the latest trade talk, we're not actually talking about the game eh my bad lol

He's absolutely sucked this year the thing about moving him, if you do, you have to bring somebody else in because I don't think you want to be 1 injury away from aa Woll/ Hutchinson tandem.

So who would it be? Halak? Holtby?, Jones?, Fluery if you get double retention?

That is the problem he let in 4 again.

He might have 4 wins but in 3 of those wins he's let in 4 goals and you can't just blame it all on defense, not when his save% on the season is below 900.

I know I have said Campbell's play has been a problem recently and it has, but even with this recentl struggle his overall numbers are still great because prior to Colorado Campbell was playing great.

Marazek hasn't played great, or even good, or hell even OK he's just been awful except for maybe the game against the NYI but that's it that's his only passable game, and you might say "he only gave up 2 to Arizona."

Yeah he did 2 on 17 shots and if we are being honest he should have had both.

Peter Marazek hasn't pulled his weight he's being carried by the offense

Has he really been a 1a/1b for the Leafs? He has either been injured or used sparingly as a backup and not a very good one.
So far he fails both the stats test and the eye test

If you get a chance to move his contract, I think you take it. Either they will be trying to re-sign Campbell or shopping for a starter. It's not a great body of work to make a judgement on because it isn't long enough. But he does have a bunch of history. I wouldn't feel like we traded away a Cup winning starter. They would get cap space to help sign/re-sign a decent goalie.

It’s an interesting decision. I think he needs a few more games to even know what we have because he’s so rusty.

if you move him and we don’t have some success in the playoffs, that’s a massive failure. If you don’t move him and we have no room to sign Campbell, that’s no good either.

if a Marlie goalie could be a solid backup you could do it because this would also free up $ for a d upgrade

Campbell also has been letting 4 in the last few games, Andersen was letting in 4. Maybe it is the chances the team is giving up.

And Holtby can also pull a groin...

Yup any goalie can but odds are in Mrazek's favour. Like you said in post 65, the market for goalies could dry up, in which case it would be harder to move him IMO. For me, you sell in a buyer's market before the market falls. I get it that Dubas won't do it now, so we'll have to wait for summer to see what the right move was.

he didn't look good last night. but he needs some games. guy has to play, especially for the contract he was given.
