I was recently reminded that I've never seen any of the Fast & Furious movies, which they're now up to 9 of and talking about a 10th. I've been meaning to make a thread like this for a while, so I might as well do it now.

Which major movie franchises have you never seen any of? Impress everyone with your pop culture out-of-touchness.

For me:

Fast & Furious - They've just never seemed appealing to me for some reason.
Bourne - I've just always wanted to read the books first and still haven't gotten around to it.
Ocean's - I've seen the 1960 original, but not any of the newer film series.
Mighty Ducks - I was too old for kids movies by the time that they came out.
Avengers - Not into Marvel
Twilight - Self explanatory
Madea - Can you believe that there have been 11 of these?
Pokemon - Wow, there have been 24 of these.

I've never seen a Harry Potter movie I guess.

I'm actually surprised there aren't more Madea movies, I thought he'd been churning a couple of those out every year for the last decade.

Haven't seen any of the Despicable Me series and I'm surprised to see there's 6 movies in that series. Going off the top box office list, most of the series I've completely missed have been recent animated ones. Madea and the recent Apes movies are the only live action series on that list I haven't seen any of.

Bourne - I've just always wanted to read the books first and still haven't gotten around to it.
I haven't read them, but I've heard that they didn't take much from the books when writing the movies, especially when it comes to the sequels.

The article that said that there were 9 was several years old. There are actually 11 so far, so a couple more. I understand what you mean, though. It's maybe not so surprising that there are so many, considering that it seems that it's all that Perry does.

Interesting. Maybe I actually don't want to read them first, because I might become annoyed at the movies changing so much. Thanks.

I haven't seen any of these.

I may be forgetting one, but I don't think I've watched a Bond movie all the way through.

Bourne movies are overall pretty good but not like the books except in general concept and the names etc. Prefered the books, the originals by Ludlum, less the extra ones written after his death by Van Lusbater though I haven't read them all.

I haven't seen any of the Twilight stuff and only saw one of the Harry Potter movies. I had never seen any of the Madea ones until seeing part of one this weekend as I was at my parents' place and my mom had it on. I don't think I have seen any of the Conjuring movies but I would like to give them a go, overall they seem to be well liked.

It appears I don't watch movies

The last marvel/superhero movie I saw was the first Spiderman with Tobey MacGuire.
Star Wars
Star Trek
James Bond
Any anime
Tyler Perry movies, including Madea
Twilight
50 Shades
Jurassic Park

There are 67 series listed in that wikipedia link. I count 16 that I've seen at least 1 movie. Star Wars, Terminator, Bourne and Die Hard are the only ones that have multiple movies that I enjoy.

Bond, F&F, Star Trek, Harry Potter most notable ones I've seen zero films. Of the million comic book movies the original Batman, X Men 1 and 2 and Iron Man are the only ones I've seen.

Fast & Furious is the big blind spot for me. Technically I have seen about 30 minutes of the 5th movie but it didn't leave much of an impression and I've never really felt compelled to watch any of them. I do find it interesting how the series has evolved in popularity because it's a real outlier in a lot of ways from most franchises. I'd read a book on that topic, but I'm still not really interested in the movies themselves.

Despite liking horror I've yet to be pulled into any of The Conjuring movies either. Don't have a reason to not watch these, I've just never been drawn to them.

Not a franchise in a strict or traditional sense, but I've still never seen a single Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki movie.

I think I've only seen one or two fast and furious films, but I honestly can't remember them that well. I don't understand the hype of them or why we've had 9 of them so far

I do suggest you watch Bourne. Nothing earth shattering, but you always want to see what happens next

Never seen any of the comic book movies outside of the original Iron Man. Tried the avengers and only made it about ten minutes before shutting er down. Don't get the hooplah there.

The Fast and the Furious is one of my favorite movies, but the other 8 are so bad, lol.

Never seen any of the Bourne movies either. Wasn't aware there were books.

Never seen anything Star Trek related.

Read a few of the Harry Potter books when I was a kid but never saw the movies either.

I feel like anyone who hasn't seen the original Star Wars trilogy is missing out, but after Return of the Jedi I don't know. Like with Marvel I only got about ten minutes into the Force Awakens before flipping it off, just couldn't do it. The Hayden Christiansen ones sucked too, imo.

Rogue One was pretty good though.

I've never seen any of the Lake Fear movies.

But also from the Wiki page: none of Harry Potter, Pirates of the Carribean, Shrek, Toy Story, Despicable Me (and really all of the kids series, except Star Wars and the superhero stuff).

Never seen any of the Underworld films, probably should cos Kate Beckinsdale....

Also need to watch the Bourne films but at least I'm not the guy that's never seen Lord of The Rings.

You aren't missing much. They're not good and they're color filtered to death so that nothing looks real, including her. I was quite disappointed. Maybe watch the first one to satisfy your curiosity, but don't keep going like I did, naively thinking that they might get better.

Never seen an Indiana Jones film. Never heard of Madea or Tyler Perry, that seems to be an American thing.

From the top 20 in that link, I've never seen a full movie from either of the Shrek or Pirates of the Caribbean franchises.

Never seen an Indiana Jones film.

I'm sure these were great when they came out in the late 70s and 80s, same with Back To The Future probably, but as someone watching them for the first time in the 2010's, I don't think they've aged terribly well. I have this issue with 80s American blockbusters and my theory is that it's nostalgia by a lot of critics and people online who grew up in the 80s and are adults now who have overrated them.
