It's so weird because according to the advanced stats he's getting absolutely axe murdered, but I wonder how much is covering for Durzi. Because I told my buddies when we were at the Ducks game, he's a hockey player's hockey player with his breakout passes, he's always got a lookoff or fake option to buy his target a half second or so, and he's far from perfect but man is he a lot better and especially more steady/reliable than anything. Reminds me a lot fo when the Kings brought in Jeff Schultz for that Cup run--probably not going to contribute more than neutral/vanilla, not going to blow anyone up or even regularly strip pucks/make plays to quickly turn around the play, just going to be solid, block passing lanes, play to a net neutral and PK effectively and DEFINITELY not HURT you. I've really enjoyed watching him, you can def. see the 'high IQ' comments, he might read the game better than anyone outside of Drew.

Good call. Very much reminds me of Schultz.

Dude is the epitome of tan crayon but on defense that’s ok if you got more vibrant colors like Drew and Durzi. But man does he get lit up constantly?

Anderson will miss 30-ish games, Edler and Doughty half the year each, Walker the whole year. Bjornfot, Roy, Maatta, and Durzi will finish as the top 4 in GP, with only Bjornfot potentially breaking 70GP. And they still have a slight chance at home ice in the 1st rd in the last week of the season. Amazing. We'll talk about this season for awhile. Look back 10, 20 years, and just, what? How? Could be like 00-01.

Something will have to happen with the defense for sure, even with letting Edler and Maatta walk, and Moverare at least playing decently gives them another option.

The way Moverare has played, as a rookie no less has been a pleasant surprise. He gives is options heading into next year especially if we climb closer to the cap limit.

With Moverare we have a perfect 7th Dman. As it stands now, and by looking at our prospects it looks like our right side of the Defence will take care of all fence while the left side will remain steady and play the defensive role.

Even if Blake gets that rumored unicorn left handed defenseman and we retain Anderson and Bjornfot what an awesome 7th Dman option in Moverare we have.

A shout out to Spence as well. I don’t think he should go back to the AHL but with the overcrowding on the right side he may have to for next year. We have two very cheap very different options for each side of the defense to be called up next year. This puts us in an awesome position. We are loaded over there with Doughty, Roy, Walker, Spence, Durzi and possible long shot Clarke. At the bare minimum one of Walker, Spence or Durzi has to be traded.

Was thinking the same about the 7th dman.

Bjornfot had a pretty rough stretch prior to the winning streak.

Moverare coming back in was a part of the team settling down.

Agreed on the 7th dman, especially because he doesn't seem to need to 'rev up.' He can just pop in and out and you know what you get.

Maybe the coaching and the system deserve some credit, eh?

Moverare is no longer Waiver exempt , a healthy D corps in Sept 2022 means he's probably gone . Best option for the Kings is to get a 4th ( maybe a 3rd if a biding war for him happens ) over the summer ( or a draft day bundle to move up ).

Just wanted to show him some love. He has been a steadying presence and perfect partner for Durzi. I appreciate his contribution this year.
Few posters here don't remember who, always sh*ts on him, but I think he's been pretty good actually. As you mentioned steady and has been doing well. Not flashy but holding his own. .

I think stylistically he's a better match with Durzi because Tobi activates from time to time. Tobi should because of his of mobility and puck handling. However, if you partner with Durzi you need to stay at home at all times.
