That is trash thinking. If Tampa was up 2-1 and we got the split, that's a win. If we had a 2-1 lead we should have moved heaven and earth to make it 3-1.

Oh yeah that game had success written all over it lol.

Don't you f***ing dare call this a successful road trip with how badly we got outplayed through these 2 games. Good grief.

Cooper turns around looks at Keefe and says: "yes we had a good road trip too. We got a split in your building" lol

Is it just me or is Gauthier faster this year?
Durzi on kings 1st powerplay lol

All people here so against evander Kane at the time but he’s exactly what this team needs
Folks afraid what he would do to dressing room but a change is exactly what it needs lol

Don’t see Leafs winning another game unfortunatly. No secret come out hard and aggressive vs them and they fold like crazy
Todays game is what’s to come from puck drop

So this off season should be fun, at least we kept our first lol
Keefe, dubas, even shanahan??
And of course Nylander…but what do we get for this one? Forward or d???

i dunno i personally thought promoting mik and engvall temporarily to line 1 while at the same time deploying Holl had success written all over it :sarcasm:

But it put us down 0-3 quick so what do I know.

With the exception of one series, every series thats 4 games is tied.. unless you have money on the Leafs, this is silly.

Game 5 now has essentially become the last chance to man up and prove that this team/core WILL battle hard enough to justify further commitment.

Keefe shouldn't be sleeping too soundly tonight either.

I was away from home all afternoon and paused the live tv so that I could catch up on the game.

Got home and the auto-play had it at the 3-0 point for Tampa going into intermission.

Not good, but ok.

Then things just unraveled. Horrible goal by Campbell, then a series of plays the officials should get demoted for - Perry with a pathetic dive - penalty.
Puck over glass - 5 on 3.

Perry holds stick of Kase who as he's wrestling it away from the hold, hits a Tampa player - 4 min pp

By this time it's 5-0 and the game is essentially over.
Nylander scores 2 goals and then just gifts one back with an empty net.

Pointe and Rielly fight for icing, 2 handed slash on the gloves followed by cross-check to the head.
No calls.
Scrum ensues where both players throw punches at each other.
No calls.

What in the f*** is going on with this officiating?

Good Lord.

Just look at big bad Tavares here:

And the crazy thing is that this is happening in every game. EVERY. GAME. The calls, non-calls, made-up calls, missed calls are astounding. I guess this is viewed as 'league consistency'? It really makes for a poor product imo.

If they are going to "call everything", then get to it, this picking and choosing is an awful look for the league.

It looks like Matty is injured. Probably his wrist. Also looks like Keefe has preached to not right back after the whistle, trying not to take any more penalties. The only hope is playing tight D and grinding out wins...

Wow. Perry is a roach. A real man doesn't fall limp like that, I don't care the stakes. Thats an indictment on his name.

Were the refs in on this? How bad must a ref be to fall for that, let alone not call an embellishment? Is this league run by betting sites now?

I am glad I am skipping these games, my suspicions are confirmed with such clips.

Here's a thought.

We still believe the team will take the series, but don't agree with decisions from a game to game basis.

This is a message board.

They could very well show up and dominate for Game 5, but will they sit back and get destroyed for Game 6?

given that tampa hasn't lost 2 in a row in the playoffs; probably a good idea leafs win 5 and if they drop 6 at least there is a slight chance in game 7

if leafs drop game 5; tampa either wins in 6 or they win in 7

The missing ingredient is "killer instinct". Without it they will never throw the KO uppercut when they have their opponents on the ropes in a series.

It's why I am puzzled why Keefe tries to outsmart the opponent by sitting players who will bring an edge to their game. The edge that Clifford and Simmonds bring, when disciplined of course: rubs off on others The same way a Muzzin or Lybushkin can. It is in short supply so why nullify it?

Considering they gave up 8 PP (can that ever be legitimate?) without them in the lineup, why have them sitting? It clearly makes no difference to the league who the Leafs employ each game the refs will find a soft penalty and dishourable TB players will oblige with embellishment.

Name another playoff game in which a team had 8 PPs. Tampa had 7 PPs the other game. Are the Leafs somehow a dirty or menacing team?
Not dirty or menacing. Stupid and inexperienced. Not good at the sneaky little things that don't get called, and not enough experience, especially compared to Tampa players, in not crossing the line.

A lot isn't sneaky by TB, it's ignored. Plenty of baffling situations and calls tonight by the officials that we've routinely been called for.

Doesn't matter because it was a blow out, but it was a poorly called game

I dont need to say it since it was already said countless times, but I will.

They never showed up. That wasn't a playoff team on the ice tonight. They gave up 12 seconds into that game.

Another thing is Marner and especially Nylander are the two softest players i've ever ever ever seen in the NHL.

It's not that their small and probably couldn't take many people in a fight it's that they're too scared to even tie up and engage physically. They're f***ing terrified of being embarrassed in a fight and just want to avoid confrontation at all costs.

Most 12 year olds playing house league have more balls when it comes to standing up for themselves.

The culture of this team is just wrong for playoff hockey, they need a Tkachuk/ Bertuzzi/ Wilson type that can play in the top 9 and drag the guys into a fight. Bunting tries but he's just not very tough himself and has 0 backup.

Its not about the size of the dog in the fight; BUT
the size of fight in the dog

did you expect better than 2-2 after 2 against the 2x stanley cup champs? Seems like a success to me. Im sure if we look back most of the wahwahs thought Tampa would take both at home but even getting 1 isn't enough for this fan base.
