I'm glad we split in Tampa, but I didn't like how we did it. To not show up in the first 10 minutes is inexcusable. If we lose the series, we'll hear how we lost to the two time defending champs, but that wouldn't be the reason we will have lost. The reason will be gutless efforts by the players you think would have learned from last year's pathetic collapse.
Oh yeah last year it was going down to the eventual cup finalist. But to me this is it with this core

Home ice this home ice that. We had home ice for the whole damn series against Columbus and blew that. Home ice against Montreal up 3-1 blew that. When the chips are down Leafs blow it. I'm hoping it's different this year but it's an alarming trend when we see performances like this tonight.

I mean, I guess it's possible for the Leafs to show up in game five. Look at how much of a no show Tampa Bay was in game one. They equally matched the Leafs awfulness in game 4, easily.

Still doesn't make me feel good about it.

They could very well show up and dominate for Game 5, but will they sit back and get destroyed for Game 6?

Probably. But we have our Power Play, it is clipping along at a... (checks notes)... 16.7% efficiency. We good.

Yep, this was embarrassing. Not quite as bad as Game 6 in Montreal, but close. Let’s see if they've learned anything, is this a final lesson or who were are. Game 5 is one for the soul, a definitive moment.
Game 5 to MTL was worse than Game 6 IMO

As bad as game 6 vs Mtl was we took it to OT and should have won. This game was over in the first 5 minutes. One of our worst efforts in the Shanny reign.

You’re right, but a loss is a loss no matter how it happens. All we can do is look forward and hope for the boys to win the next one
An ugly loss just means they'll probably be motivated to show up on time in game five.

If Matthews, Tavares and Marner can't find the back of the net, it won't really matter what their effort is. Can't rely on Kampf and secondary scoring to keep them in the series. Guys have to step up.

Tavares 0 goals in 4 games
Matthews has 2 goals in 4 games, both were in game 1.
Marner has 2 goals in 4 games, fine, but still need more.
Nylander, 2 goals, both late when the game was over in game 4.

It's not good enough.

It's called a one-off Keefe, you don't expect your 3rd line to be your best line in back to back games. Play your horses that got you here.
That’s actually embarrassing. Who cares if they were your best line for a game, your best line isn’t up for discussion. He literally hasn’t started them in a game this series?.

Not like the top 5 had a good night, none of them came to play

Another thing is Marner and especially Nylander are the two softest players i've ever ever ever seen in the NHL.

It's not that their small and probably couldn't take many people in a fight it's that they're too scared to even tie up and engage physically. They're f***ing terrified of being embarrassed in a fight and just want to avoid confrontation at all costs.

Most 12 year olds playing house league have more balls when it comes to standing up for themselves.

The culture of this team is just wrong for playoff hockey, they need a Tkachuk/ Bertuzzi/ Wilson type that can play in the top 9 and drag the guys into a fight. Bunting tries but he's just not very tough himself and has 0 backup.

If they had learned anything as a group tonight wouldn't have been tonight.

Sure, but the way we came out that game was unreal, I’ll never forget it, especially after Game 5.

Let’s hope we see 34 strap it on for Game 5, right out of the gate. Or five minutes in, because Keefe ;)

As soon as I saw Holl wasn't scratched, that they were not calling penalties, and neither Simmonds nor Clifford dressed, and then the 2-0 in the first few minutes of the game, I shut it off.

I made progress in my divorce/break up from this team. Not only did I shut it off, I only checked the box score 6 times after I shut it off and tried to salvage my Saturday night.

Hope we bring it next game. Whatever confidence this team instilled in me in game 1, it is now negative. What a complete nightmare.
Today is Sunday. And why are you bragging about not watching games as if that makes you more of a fan? Lol

Makes me wonder what they'll do if they lose this series. I thought a TB loss may buy some goodwill, but not with (at least) 2 no show games

I think we all know the answer if we're being honest to ourselves.

I bet you text your ex to tell them you aren't thinking about them too
