I would've if the effort had been there. In game 2, the loss was mainly due to taking too many penalties, not because of a lack of effort. The Leafs were great in period one of game 2. I'd be happy with a split if this was a hardly fought game, but no one showed up the first 50 minutes of it, not one single player. No one.We all would have been satisfied with a split in Tampa, and that is what we got. Best of 3 now, and we won 2 of the first 3
Let’s get our quotes attributed to the right person before we take them out of context to bash the leafs in a thinly veiled trolling attempt."Powerplay is our enforcer"
As soon as i heard those words couple of years ago, I knew Dubas and Keefe weren't gonna cut it
That was the quotes going in, no?Leafs need the Kawhi mentality. "F that let's get them both". No killer instinct.
No killer instinct.1-8 in games in the playoffs when we have a series lead. This team just can't get it done when the games matter.
wonder how JT will be treated in T.O. after he retires
Next game will tell allNo killer instinct.
If they lose game 5, they probably bring their swimsuits and golf clubs to Tampa.if we lose the next game i think that would be a good idea
Loser mentalityThat is trash thinking. If Tampa was up 2-1 and we got the split, that's a win. If we had a 2-1 lead we should have moved heaven and earth to make it 3-1.
Fully agreed Tone. This is a results oriented business. Almost or so close isn’t good enough. They haven’t made a deep run with this GM/Coach/pres/core, and you can’t trade all the players.Who was the last coach to be fired during a playoff series ?? Lose this series and it should be curtains for coach, GM and Pres.
last year's loss to mtg, especially the game 7 gutless loss should have been enough to have this team not have this type of unacceptable game.I don't know how the players accept such gutless losses year after year. This wasn't even a game, it was over within the first minute and not a single push to gain momentum. You could almost hear the circus music going on in their heads as they mindlessly skated around running down the clock for 60 minutes.
Yup. Next game will show if this team has what it takes to win a playoff series as currently constructed. With our luck, they'll play great but Vasi steals a game for them finally.Next game will tell all
Well we would've had a few options at least. That's the be all and end all issue with paying 3 guys 11mil a year.If not for the Tavares contact, we likely have too add Pietrangelo.
If by they they he is including Gio-Holl than he's crazy. Gio was fine last game but Holl was not.
lol yea I hope Nylander and JT aren't feeling good about themselves they've still been useless when it matters
You’re right, but a loss is a loss no matter how it happens. All we can do is look forward and hope for the boys to win the next oneI would've if the effort had been there. In game 2, the loss was mainly due to taking too many penalties, not because of a lack of effort. The Leafs were great in period one of game 2. I'd be happy with a split if this was a hardly fought game, but no one showed up the first 50 minutes of it, not one single player. No one.
How can you have positive vibes when your team gives literally zero effort? I wish I was being hyperbolic, but they were invisible all game.
I'm happy the series is tied, they won game 3 on the backs of secondary scoring because our top four were invisible at 5 on 5, same as in game 4. There's nothing positive to talk about in game 4. Zero.
