Not overly worried about this. As usual everyone has a meltdown and over reacts. Its a back to back playoff schedule. I expected a loss, was not surprised by the result. Effort was lackluster.

Just need the powerplay to heat up and the goaltending and defense to show up.
Not much to ask for. 😆

Campbell is no different than andersen

If they let that first one in they are done fir the rest of the game

Cant win in this league with .860 save percentage

Maybe it always feels this way in a loss but our goalies just seem to bury us in big games. Andersen had a 10 GAA in the 1st period of game 7's for a while and gave up a weak goal in every deciding game he played.

Campbell was awful in the back half of the Montreal series. And we never get a weak goal like the one he gave up to Gallagher in game 7 last year, or the goal off the half wall Andersen gave up in game 5, or the 1st goal in game 7 vs Boston that wasn't even a scoring chance, or the GWG to Debrusk the year before.

But year the team is really bad too. Running it back if we fall apart again would be actual insanity.
I'll preach it until he's fired, this is on the goalie coach Briere and his odd approach to the mental aspects of goaltending

Really feel bad for the guy. He's going through what every player who has ever played the game before him has gone through: father time. It hit JT earlier than we'd like but the game is just too fast for him. I know he tries hard and I tried to remember that when I'm about to post about him, but against fast teams like Tampa he is reduced to an overpaid face-off specialist. Tough

If Tavares moves any slower he is going to be moving backwards.

It’s embarrassing

If by they they he is including Gio-Holl than he's crazy. Gio was fine last game but Holl was not.

Even Matthews looked bad.

I expected matthews and marner to not produce much 5 on 5 in the away games as cooper gets to match them them with point line. I said it before too. For the away games they gotta break matthews and marner. put marner with tavares and matthews with nylander. start the game that way and then if shit hits the fan adjust.

When matthews-marner couldn't get it going I did not see Keefe break them for even one shift to get something going. Keefe's dictionary does not have the word "adjustment"; he keeps on with the hail mary

That's on Keefe and Tavares

Absolutely stupid decision to play Holl AGAIN and it cost us, even stupider to start him for the opening puck drop. The guys were not prepared to start the game at all.

Tavares is so garbage offensively, all he's good for is faceoffs and checking, provides zero offence. He needs to wake up asap, literally worse than a 4th liner in terms of production right now, completely unacceptable. Lily needs to get back in, Tavares f***ing do something please.

Very disappointing effort tonight, at the end of the day Toronto did there job and took a game in Tampa on the road but it's now a best of 3 and they can no longer afford to have any more stinkers of games. I think the worst part is fans got the same feeling of, "big game, same shit effort as shown in previous big games in the playoffs in recent years".

You knew Tampa was going to come out hard in the opening 10 mins and we did the worst possible job at weathering the storm, giving them a 3-0 lead after 8 mins.

Love Tavares and will always have a soft spot for coming home, but we are paying you 11m to show up and play good for us, his play has been brutal this playoffs. Same thing with Nylander, got two goals tonight but I have never seen a player be less engaged in an entire series then him, if your looking at changes, he is the player that has to go.

Go re-watch Keefe’s pre game presser, it’s actually instructive. Basically saying all the right things but underneath this we've already got a split, it’s all gravy now satisified demeanour. It worried me to be honest. We came out just like that, instead of keeping our boot on their throats. And him starting Holl was proof positive he was too comfortable. We weren’t ready.
