Here's mine...

Free Agent Joe Thornton is picked up by Boston and leads the Bruins to a Stanley Cup, obliterating the knock against him for which he was traded to San Jose in the first place :handclap:

What's yours?

On the couch
Habs fire Clode, rehire Therrien. Bruins rehire Clode.

The first part of that scenario would cause the Bell Centre to be burnt to a delicious, poutine-flavored crisp.

Belehayes makes headlines all year, leads Bruins to the Cup and cleans house at the NHL Awards. McDavid tells the press he can't wait to join them in Boston.

Loui Eriksson and Reilly Smith are traded to the Bruins, only to be flipped in January to Dallas for Seguin and an 'I'm Sorry' card signed by Peter Chiarelli, found underneath Don Sweeney's desk with a date of 'July 4, 2015'.

"Boston signs Center Joe Thornton to a 3 year 17.25 million dollar contract. Thornton, drafted by Boston #1 overall in 1997 was shipped out to San Jose as part of a rebuild. Much like his time on a line with Joe Pavalski, Thornton is expected to play with David Krejci and split time at C and the wing".

" The Bruins weren't done quite yet. Following the signing of future hall of famer Joe Thornton, Boston traded Matt Beleskey, Adam McQuaid, Ryan Spooner,Zachery Senyshyn and 1st in 2018 to Vegas in exchange for Mark Methot and James "Real Deal" Neal.

The Bruins plan to roll out the following for the 2017/18 season:
Marshand-Bergeron-Pasta
Thornton-Krejci-Neal
Vatrano-Backes-Debrusk
Schaller-Nash-Hayes

Chara-Carlo
Methot-MacAvoy
Krug-Miller

this thread could turn very stupid in a hurry... i have hope it might be fun to follow. id like if people kept their ideas rooted in reality of what could possibly happen.

joe thornton back to boston for example... unlikely for sure
does jarome iginla count or is that too likely?
id say the gabriel landeskog trade is more unlikely than either of these 2 ideas

but ill put as my entry, zdeno chara signs 3 year extension...

The Bruins make any substantial roster change...

McQuaid and Miller both each play 82 games this season.

Jimmy Hayes and a 3rd round draft pick get traded to anywhere with cap space for a 7th; Jimmy Hayes proceeds to score 30 goals.

Bergeron demands a trade... ends up in Montreal with Claude.

David Krejci publicly gets asked to waive NMC, but doesn't.

Ryan Spooner is re-signed and scores 60 points.

Bruins acquire Alexander Ovechkin.

Bruce Cassidy and Claude Julien duke it out during a bench clearing brawl between Montreal and Boston. Cassidy wins becoming a new hero in Bruins folklore.

Sorry, I did get a little carried away above, but on a serious tone, my submission would be, not only does Shattenkirk sign a long-term deal in Boston, but on a team-friendly deal (6.2 mill for 6)

I'd really like to see Thornton sign here again, but I'd reckon there's almost no chance of that. I wouldn't mind Marleau either, as I think he fits our team need more (LW for Krejci), but my guess is Joe hasn't exactly hyped up Boston to his SJ teammates.

Still unlikely, but more likely than Marleau or Thornton, is Evander Kane. I've wanted Kane on the Bruins ever since he KO'd Matt Cooke.
