Michkov is putting up better numbers this year than Bedard, Fantilli, Smith and Carlsson who were all drafted ahead of him too. This one could really be the one to haunt us. He may very well turn into a HOF type of player and we will just have to eat it. Happens.

Just hope in a few years Reinbacher is on our first pair, because he has to be now lol.
I’ve watched most of Michkov’s games this season and last. He was BPA at 5 and most lists had him BPA at 2.

Two observations:
1- Demidov is better. He’s the real “Chosen One”
2- We’re building a Stanley Cup team not a motley crew of BPAs

Aside from other attitude issues, Michkov has the shortest fuse I’ve ever seen. He gets slightly pushed and it’s like you slapped his mother. We already have our arms full with a diva showing up at the Bell Center as Captain Kangaroo. Michkov would complicate things tenfold.

You have to wonder what Hughes and his team learned of Michkov through the Bobrov Sr. connection.

You have to accept that Hughes and his team really, really liked what they saw from Reinbacher.

I trust that what they saw in Reinbacher wasn't BS. I hope his decision-making and defensive instincts are still there (they will be). I hope he becomes the player and plays the role Hughes and his team wanted him to play.

It just sucks so much to miss on Michkov -- when is the last time we had a player like him? As the kids say, Hughes takes the L right there. As a fanbase we have to accept it and move on.

Once you and others stop crying over not picking him this board can move on.
It's a thread created specifically to point out the disappointing moves by Hughes. It couldn't be more appropriate to point out to this draft blunder.
Who is crying, exactly? You are asking someone to stop sharing a perfectly valid perspective.

If you need to move on (whatever that means), then not clicking on a thread where mistakes are being discussed would be a lot more rational.

The habs offense should be elite in a year or 2 even without Michkov, so it shouldn't hurt too much.

This top 6 looks awesome:

Caufield - Suzuki - Demidov
Laine - Dach/Hage - Slaf

If we have Michkov, we likely don't get or re-sign Laine. Michkov should become better than Laine, but Laine is still a potential elite piece.

Nah that's just his compete. He's feisty, would love to have more of that on the Habs.

I wonder tho who do you think feels worse? Habs for passing on Michkov for Rein, or Hawks for passing on Demidov for Lev?

It was discussed somewhere else, so it wasn't in this thread where I told that person to "stop crying", it just got moved here.

This crying has been done in multiple threads, that's why the mods have had to, essentially make a thread for those who always comment on it to bring it here so it stops derailing other threads.

Cope. There was a tonne of chatter that was probably generated by the Habs themselves because they knew they were about to make an unpopular choice. That unpopular choice seems to also have been wrong.
You can invent things in your head but when someone share something said by people who are "in the know" they are coping?

Alright, then.

He can be discussed in the Out of Town like any other player.

But the ‘we should’ve drafted this guy’ talk can go here.

Make sense?

Nope. How is a guy we drafted a Hughes acquisition? He's just another NHLer, and thus should be discussed in the other NHLer thread.

Alright, then.

How do you think "in the know" stories are generated? Leaks from the organization.

And of course it's cope. Anything to avoid admitting the obvious: Habs chose wrong, again.

It’s actually quite funny how Michkov looks so insulted on the ice by the slightest push or chirp. He’s wound up like a high tension wire on the verge of blowing a fuse. Do you want him to be the face of the franchise?

Hawks will rue the day they passed on Demidov.

Since the vast majority wanted Michkov, badly. I'm sure we would see a 1000 posts of people dunking themselves on a daily basis if Michkov had a rough rookie season... Not.
He's talked about so much on here that out of town or not he deserves his own thread.

This cope shit is so stupid. The ones actually trying to cope are the ones that always bring it up because they are butthurt by not being picked. They have nothing else to say but that when you bring up facts or reasons you didn't want him. It's been the new catch-word. Guess what? Not everyone wanted him so just COPE with it :laugh::laugh:

You whiners are too stuck on yourselves to even realize you won't be able to judge for another 5 years at least. Like I said, wake me up when wonder boy does something in the playoffs. We didn't draft him COPE with that.

There's nothing wrong with HuGo, just the whiners again not getting their shiny new toy crying. We have a better Bitchvov coming next year and a great prospect pool. Not our fault you guys have the patience of 5 year old.

Did KK have his own thread after his departure?

A handful of folks - you know who - would post whenever he’d accidentally get a secondary assist.
