I had no idea DYG could be "brought back to life" like that, nice.

There's some pretty bad fighters on that list, and even near the top like Buchberger, Barnaby, Lappy. You just have to admire the heart. Knowing you fight bigger, badder, tougher, monsters night after night.

And guys like Jim Cummins, Cam Russell, were warriors. Always fought the toughest of the toughest. They were not in a position, not talented enough, to be picky. Win or lose, just show up. If you think it was tough for a guy like Stu Grimson or John Scott, super tough guys, baddest men of their era, to mentally prepare for the next game and opponent, imagine what it was like for those guys who knew they were going to receive a beating in the hands of a beast. Just hoping to not get hurt too bad, and to get a few in themselves. You do what you do, for your team. That's unsullied heart.

Buchberger ranks that high? Quite surprised.

Not sure if he actually ever won a fight though

Laurie Boschman? I must be misremembering him. Did he start to fight more later in his career?

Guys like Barnaby, McLeod, Lappy, really had a talent for getting mixed up with guys they should be avoiding, but yet not getting hit somehow. That’s an actual skill set, lol.
Tiger and Domi were almost that. They fought some wide open, but they were still smart and careful around the baddest dudes. Domi did use his 2” thick skull, smartly.
And then you have the super pests, who pretend to be fighting people. Avery, Tucker, Downie, Kunitz, Marchand. Barnaby really was one of them.
And lunatics like “Mental Case” Durbano and “Missing Link” Gaetz, well they didn’t care what happened once they got going, lol.

Interesting. Mick (Dick) Vukota had 249 fights without ever throwing a punch.

Me too.I went to that site all the time.
. Torrie Robertson was the same way.Not one fight of his 212 was a slugfest.Hugfest

Vukota didn't even hug. He just tried to lift his opponent's leg and throw them down. He had to answer for many a cheap shot and couldn't fight. One of the most despicable players ever.

this thread comes with a slight *--in the 70's and 80's, a lot of fights happened where it was the third or fourth fight on the ice and those guys did not get penalized all the time
