I guess someone doesn't know much about Berglund

ya i really don't know about that 3rd liner who barely produce 30 points I never had that on the team I'm cheering for

i don't want a 3.9M 3rd liner that can't produce for free sorry

Yea I don't if I'd go that far......

Has turtleneck fallen off a cliff or something?

He has certainly degraded.

It might help the Blues a little as an upgrade over Lehtera, but the Blues' third line would honestly be gross. Berglund has had one of the biggest babysitting jobs in the league and has done a nice job of it. If you have to run Jaskin-Lehtera-Rattie for the third line, especially if Plekanec doesn't click on the top two, the Blues are likely to be worse.
It could work out, but it's not at all far-fetched that this is one of those odd cases where the team that gets the best player actually suffers more.

I do not see why Montreal does this.

Plekanec has out produced Berglund since 2010-present by a significant amount except this year where both players are not putting up significant points so far. Plekanec is also one of the best defensive centers in the league. Yes, Berglund is younger and bigger. I still think Plekanec can do what we need him to do better than Berglund. Plekanec is also a far more proven goal scoring player, something we definitely need. I would also like to point out hat Beeglund is a free agent at season's end.

Yakupov is worth Carr straight up. Maybe. However, the problem is that we KNOW Therrien will bench Yakupov forever. Why waste Carr on him?

Why are we then giving up a pick as well?

Montreal should walk away from this one. The only way St. Louis considers this one is if they believe they are Cup contenders and think that Plekanec's defensive ability AND his secondary scoring would complement their team well for the playoffs. Berglund's size is nice for the West, but I think I would still prefer Plekanec.

Other then bergs size this trade doesn't help Montreal

We need to upgrade 2ndC and have plek and Mitchell as 3rd and 4th
Of course by February plek will prob be on pace for another 45-50 season and all will be normal again

Dump DD beaulieu picks prospects and emelin

Pick up young d and young C with potential

He's been much worse in terms of production. Which isn't to say he's worse than Berglund. I think it has more to do with the fact that he is 34 and has another year on his contract for 6 mil and there is a realistic posibility that he's experiencing a drastic drop-off. That said, this isn't a great deal for Montreal and a pretty easy no as well.

MT has finally reunited the Patches-Plek-Gally line that was so good last year, I'd rather just wait and see if they can all get out of their slumps together.

The Blues get hosed big time here, Why would St Louis want a 34 year old Plekanec who's trending down. Pretty sure this is a big fat No from St Louis.

True. The thing with this proposal is, Berglund is a UFA. Better to have cap space in the offseason then blow 6 million on Plek.

No doubt the Pleks is the better player, but Berglund has the much better contract from the Blues perspective.
