To Montreal:

Nail Yakupov

To Edmonton:

Sven Andrighetto
Mike Condon
2017 3rd

Andrighetto, Yakupov, and Condon are all odd men out at this point. I think Andrighetto for Yak is okay value, and Edmonton picks up a pick as well for taking Condon's contract off our hands. Chia could then flip Andrighetto/Condon and expect less backlash from fans as well. Could end up being 3 3rd round picks for Yak.

Seems to me you're giving up alot for Yak who's value right now is low.

I'm a Yak fan, but he needs a change of scenery badly.

He's not a Therrien-type player, so I don't think he would be a great fit there.

Drafting PoolParty and signing Versteeg kinda puts an end to the Yak Era in Edmonton.

Oilers have The Monster and Brossiot as backups in net, so I don't think Condon would be a good fit.
They most definitely don't need another RW in Andrighetto, or they'd likely just keep Yak.

I think a 2nd would do it at this point.

This Summer the asking price for Yakupov had fallen to a 2nd round pick and there weren't even tire kickers. Id be surprised if his value wasn't more along the lines of a straight trade for a 3rd round pick as he still has a big salary cap hit putting teams off...

Which is fine.. Oilers would probably prefer a 3rd over the OP. Frees up a contract spot and 2.5M in capspace.

Actually, that's not true. It was speculated his value around the league was a 3rd, but that was irrelevant because Chiarelli wants a player back for him. Not a pick.

In terms of this trade, I'm not saying those guys necessarily have negative value, but both would immediately be waived, so what's the point of filling 2 contract spots? I'd rather just the pick to the pick and the 2 of them, and even then it isn't a trade that makes sense

Just like how Justin Schultz was a top paring D man in edmonton.

huh?

Condon is good enough to be a backup. His numbers weren't the best last season because he had to play 55 games, which he was not ready for. He lacked consistency, but that doesn't affect a backup since they don't play constantly.

Make it Yak + 3rd for Sergachev and its good

Yak + 3rd + McDavid for Beaulieu + Sergachev + 2nd. And Montreal can throw Condon or Desharnais if you want them.

:sarcasm:

Seriously tho, Sergachev, bro? What the hell?

It was a fitting response to the person i quoted..
Moved the best part that was coming our way in OP (3rd) from MTL side to EDM side..
Oilers are fine with Yak and would rather waive him than add 2 not needed contracts

Too much money coming back. I'd rather just take the 3rd rounder and montreal can keep their players.
