Monahan out until Mid-March after Injury Set Back

Next thing you know, water is wet

Sucks for Monahan. It does make you wonder what kind of career he could have had without all the surgeries.

I think the back is new for him. In Calgary it was wrist, hips and shoulder.

It might surprise some people that monahan has played 124 consecutive games without injury prior to this.

I feel bad for him to go through another major injury. It was looking like maybe these days were behind him.

The last game he played? He hasn't been back since the injury took place
I havent followed him that much this season, so I thought this was an injury that happened in Jan 7th and now turned out to be more serious, so I was wrong.

Good for Monahan to understand to stop playing and get healthy.

There was an intial report with nothing broken they expected it to be a fairly quick return but also need to wait for the swelling to go down to get a better look at what other damage was actually done.

Since being out Fantilli has taken that 1C role and while not the player Monahan is at this point in his career he's done very well. he has 11 points in the 10 games since getting that role and just played 26 minutes last night. Between playing with the Russians and learning from Monahan it's gone better than I think most of us expected
