OT: MLB Thread XLVII

Yankees should really try to acquire Ketel Marte, They can't count on Hicks and Marte is signed for 3 more years a switch hitter and plays CF. He's perfect fit

I know a couple people who have had unreal gambling runs on this. Its too late now. There's no way I'm jumping on this after they lose 23 in a row.

Funny how different it feels when you win a series but lose the last game. Cubs were all smiles last night after avoiding the sweep. Same with the Pirates. But the Mets keep chugging along. Big test the next 10 days with a handful of doubleheaders in the pipe.

they sure need lefty bats, Wade/Odor (...Ford ...Tauchman) aren't what most Yankee teams look like
where are all the Oscar Gambles, Jim Spencers, Mickey Rivers, Graig Nettles, Chris Chambliss, Mattingly, Oneill, Tino, Hideki -
(or as you cited, switchers, still recall that day, i was doing grad school homework and listening to radio, both Bernie and Posada homered from both sides)
don't hate most of current guys but the lineup has no balance
(although instead of Stanton, they shoulda gotten Yelich, lefty bat and plays in the field)

Why go with a tried-and-true strategy? Cashman knows better. He's the smartest guy in the room.

I think their thought was you dont just get a LH bat/s at the expense of better players who bat RH. That was obviously before other cirumstances now lol. I would love Ketel Marte but I doubt the Yankees will give up what they need to get him, Starling Marte (yes another RH hitter) is more likely.

The problem with this logic is that they play in Yankee Stadium. A lefty with any kind of power will have inflated stats there.

Yeah I agree, they should have a few lefty bats especially with LF being open for one and CF as well. RF, DH, 3B, SS, 2B, 1B (when Voit is back) are kinda locked in for RH bats

I think this was a badly managed game by Rojas. Forcing steals against one of the best throwing catchers. Mckinney bunts with two outs while being one of the best hitters?
