Mets take 2 out of 3 in Arizona. They still give you angina but, unlike prior years, they find ways to win.

Also really good to see Pete looking like a force. When he was banged up he was really struggling, but he looks back to 100%.

Good to see MLB finally use their power for good on ALS. Lou Gehrig day across baseball with lots of different auctions and fundraisers donating money to ALS research. It’s such an awful disease. Hope to see some good of this.

Judge starting in cf.Dont think i would stick him out there and ask him to cover more ground with his injury history.Seems like an injury waiting to happen.

deGrom is basically averaging 100 mph on his fastball. With command. He hit 102 the other day and the broadcast booth was like “and the sky is blue.” He’s somehow getting better with age, and rapidly approaching all-time great status. Oh and he’s hitting .450 with a .950 OPS.

Didn't I see a stat the other day that he was the first starter to average over 100 on his FB for a start?

I follow the Mets minors pretty religiously, and always get out to see guys in Binghamton. I remember with deGrom, I was aware of him, he was kind of a sleeper prospect, but never really thought of as more than a depth arm by most. And then...this. He's 32 and suddenly he throws 102. LOL. It's just ridiculous.

Didn't expect the Yankees to rebound from getting swept by the lowly Tigers against the hottest team in the league, not going to lie. Definitely showing some resilience. Their starting pitching is better than I can remember in a long ass time... Hopefully doesn't fall apart.

I'm slightly worried about DJL - guy is swinging at stuff he wouldn't even bat an eye at last season. He's cornerstone of this offense and really needs to get it going

He's what we all were dreaming Matt Harvey would be. Of all the guys we had, Harvey deGrom, Thor and Wheeler, I was not expecting deGrom and Wheeler to be the best of the bunch.

When I see Darvish with his 79 mph breaking ball I’m like, “wow respect to this eephus pitcher.”

I think back to those guys like Bobby Jones, who were good pitchers and who threw mid-80s fastballs, changes in the 70s and curveballs in the 60s. That seems like it was an entirely different game.

What’s the deal with Cashman? Was he overrated in the 90s/00s. Or has he just “lost” it?
