If nothing else Boone has to go.

Hire, Showalter, hire Bochy, even hire AJ Hinch just to piss everyone off. Just hire some else... Aaron Boone does not get the most from his players.

None of those guys are going to come to the Yankees just to show up to work with that days lineup and strategy taped to his door on a notecard signed -From BC.

This is funny to joke about and correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think this is how it actually works.

Going with an opener for game 2 was idiotic and you know Boone didnt do that on his own.Cashman absolutely has his ear in far too many things.Im not absolving Boone of any blame either.Theres enough to go around.

The Yankees were a better version of the Mets. Hot/cold hitting and a weak rotation behind the stud. Obviously the bullpen was way better but still.

Sorry for you guys. I don't root for your team but that's a tough way to end it.

I agree Cash takes a lot of the blame. He puts the roster together. He wanted Boone over other managers, such as Bam Bam who you know was not going to be controlled like a puppet when his mentor is Bruce Bochy. Buck Showalter should be getting a call once Cashman is fired.

And thats because Boone just doesnt have what it takes. He did not have any experience before this to draw on in any given situation. I mean last night you pinch hit for Higgy with Mike Ford. He hasnt gotten a hit since forever ago, he has been awful. And you essentially burn through 3 players. And he did it the other night burning through Frazier. Taking Britton out back to back nights with 2 outs in an inning to bring Chapman in. Leaving Judge in the 2 spot despite his 2 run HR. Not breaking up the lineup more, having Stanton-Voit back to back. I love Voit and he hit his HRs during the season but he is an all or nothing hitter. Gleyber should have been there after Stanton. Boone has no feel for the game. He is too analytical. Kevin Cash out-managed him this series. The game 2 blunder will go down as the signature moment in his downfall as a Manager.

Get rid of Cash and Boone. Start there. Then Thanes and Blake and the rest of the staff. Harkey can stay .

Re-Sign DJ
Sign Bauer
Sign Stroman
Let Paxton walk
Let Happ walk
Trade Voit (wont be popular but we have too many one dimensional players and Stanton aint going anywhere)
Trade Andujar
Sign Lindor
Possibly Re-Sign Gardner to be the 4th OF
Hicks - I think he stays but wouldnt be upset to see him go.
Re-Sign Gio
Kahnle wont be back until August so get Bullpen help.

Cole
Bauer
Stroman
Garcia
Monty
Schmidt

The biggest decision will be at Catcher and what to do with Sanchez.

When Boone was hired, there was a lot of emphasis on him being able relate to the young players in the locker room. His coaching philosophy and decision-making ability didn't matter, because all of that was going to be handled by the front office. Boone's essentially a glorified babysitter at this point.

Front offices across MLB have totally neutered the managerial position. Bucky Showalter doesn't have a job, even though he has proven time and time again that he's an effective manager, because most organizations want a puppet instead.

Trade Judge and Voit while value is high. Stanton you're stuck with. Whatever. Keep DJ, Torres, Urshela, Frazier.

Trade Sanchez with a prospect if you need to get him the hell off this team.

Go for pitching, pitching, and more pitching. Sign a couple of guys that are tough outs and put the ball in play. The "feast or famine" mindset with this current core has not been getting it done. 1 run in an elimination game is not enough. That's been the pattern the last 3-4 years. The bats disappear in the big games.

The lineup is also too right handed. Makes it too easy on opposing managers. Cash could just bring in right handed power arms to handle our entire lineup. Our best left handed option is Ford who shouldn't even be in the league.

Another reason why bringing back Didi made a ton of sense. Keep DJLM at 1B and Voit in a DH platoon with Stanton. And obviously it wouldnt have been much of a platoon since Stanton missed time again. But your defense would have been better keeping Gleyber at 2B and your lineup would have had another lefty in it.

Not going to happen. Ownership has become too comfortable with failure. George would never have allowed it to come to this.
This is just like the 12-17 Rangers.

Every year we watch the same flawed team stumble through a round or two just to get a knife in our backs and nothing is done about the flaws.

Except the Rangers made it to the last stage once. Sad times when the Rangers are better.

Getting to the point where I'm not even sure of this anymore.

It was an absolute joke this year.

- I couldn't stand the TBS games. endless knob-sucking of Tampa. Owners are cheap pieces of shit and give away their best players all the time, and somehow to those idiots, that a compliment.

- Also, TBS morons kept saying "yankees finally all healthy", but seem to forget our #2 Starter and #1 relief pitcher are out. Game 2 would have been a whole different animal with Sevy.

- Cashman and Boone need to go. Time has passed Cashman by, and Boone is a puppet.

- Cole only player that showed up

- Also, f*** Tatis and Acuna, and all the praise for bat-flipping and peacocking. and being over-emotional. Turning Baseball into Basketball is now how you make Baseball better.

I wouldn't touch Judge. He's got a 20 WAR in two and half seasons worth of baseball. That's insane.

We need to add to him and diversify our lineup, not make a panic trade.

What good is the WAR though when he spends 50+ games a year injured?I'm not advocating trading him either,im just not sure giving him a lifetime contract is the way to go.Do we really want to strap this team with another Stanton like contract and situation?

It's a tough call but I think he's a guy you have to take a chance on.

In their defense, Judge and Stanton were the only guys consistently doing anything this postseason.

I think we need to add more than subtract. A guy like Hicks, for example, is fine but he's fine batting 8th, not 3rd. I would be all over Lindor.

The one spot to subtract is Gary Sanchez. I'm done with him.

Another thing I'm chapped about, and somebody else pointed this out last night: for all the prospects Cashman has hugged, name one that's come up and had an impact. Pretty sure Gleyber Torres is the last one.

If the lineup was flush with kids, I could see it. Instead, our lineup is made up of the same core, some free agents, and some reclamation projects. The only relevant Yankees prospects on the team are Judge and Torres. But we won't move prospects.

Watching Tampa, I kept wondering, "Which guy is the good guy?" I mean I know they have a couple nice players but they also seem to have a bunch of nobodies, both with the bat and on the mound. What am I missing with them? And no I didn't pay attention this year.

They are definitely a team that is "the sum is more than their parts". I can only think that speaks to some really good coaching and some luck.

Still they mostly lean on their pitching (tick above league average offense and top 5 pitching staff.). The top of their rotation is great with Snell, Glasnow, and Morton. Their bullpen has a bunch of hard throwers with CONTROL (so important).

As for the Yankees. No heads a rolling. I fully expect Cashman and Boone to come back. They are going to use COVID, the injuries, and MLB not telling the teams before the trade deadline that the playoffs would have no off days as excuses. That last excuse actually pissed off a lot of GMs.

To be fair, this one is valid.

And there was really no reason for it.

Folks are getting crazy with the Yanks.
They are not blowing up management.
Trade for a starter. Sign a starter.
Chapman is cooked. He's not fooling anyone or has good enough stuff to blow guys away. Someone has to get into his ear to change what hes doing.
Gary Sanchez is what he is. Accept it or deal him.
DJ is not taking a discount from the Yankees in years or money. I say its less than 50/50 he returns.
I think Tanaka comes back.

Chapman is not “cooked”. What planet are you on? He is still hitting 100mph. How is that not good enough? He did a bad job against Brousseau, didnt locate well enough and he saw a lot of pitches. He got used to the release point on all of his pitches. Got a good pitch to hit and made contact. The ball barely made it out.

There is a lot of criticism to go around for this Yankees team, but saying Chapman is cooked and his stuff isnt good enough is outrageously laughable.

Clarke Schmidt, 24
Albert Abreu, 25
Luis Gil, 22
Alex Vizcaino, 23
Estevan Florial, 23 very soon

What are we doing with these guys? Time to either be on the Yankees or get moved for somebody who will be.
