The reality is that having Severino, Paxton, German and Kahnle available in this series might have changed the outcome. The problem is that Cashman knew they wouldn't be available and sat on his hands.

Offense, pitching, defense...blah blah blah. I'm not gonna dissect them anymore. All I know is a 109 mil payroll team just lost to a 28 mil payroll team. That squarely lands at the feet of the GM.

20 years...One World Series win. At what point do results matter?

Oh and it's nice seeing that Showalter mended the fence with the Yankees org. Maybe they should ask him to manage.

Maybe after 4 years of disappointment Cashman will realize the "homerun or strikeout" strategy isn't getting this team to a WS much less winning it. It doesn't work in the playoffs when you're facing elite pitching.

But the other truth is this team just didn't have the pitching this playoffs to really expect a World Series win.

And please get Gary off this team.

We don't have a Ramirez, Bellinger, Yelich, Soto, Tatis, Bregman, Acuna etc. We don't even have an Arozarena.

Judge is not that. He's exactly where he belongs, which is batting second. The 50 homers were an aberration. He's great defensively and gets on base, that's what he is.

And there's still just too many easy eats. Every guy on Tampa 1-9 is a tough out and then they have guys on the bench that are tough outs.

Despite being a 2-1 game, watching the two lineups go to work tonight was like watching different sports.

Cashman is utterly incapable of building a championship team without the Core 4. The "vaunted bullpen" is wildly overrated. The offense is inconsistent and it's the same type of hitters up and down the lineup. Prioritizing strikeouts and homeruns over making contact is asinine.

2017 was supposed to be the start of something special, but instead it seems like that was this team's peak. This roster needs an overhaul and change in philosophy. They should seriously consider trading Judge and get rid of Sanchez if they can.

Its been fun guys, thankfully we should have some exciting Rangers hockey in a few months

Im not disagreeing with you.i honestly dont even think we need more stars,i think we need more players in the mold of DJ.players who arent all or nothing hitters and use the entire field
I agree with you on that but I also think we need "the guy" in the middle of the order. I think we need both.

Stanton is too inconsistent and Judge just isn't that (and I like him). We should have gone for Yelich. That was a huge miss.

why did Cole come out after only 94 pitches? was it just pitching on short rest?

Losing Tommy and Ottavino being crap really hurt too.Not sure why we didnt get help during the season.

Quite frankly i agree and dont even think we need "the guy" in the middle of the lineup.Look at the Rays, they dont have a guy like that in the middle of their lineup.they just have professional hitters up and down the lineup who dont give outs away.

Cashman is going to hear it for prospect hoarding again at the deadline. Yankees are such a flawed team, they are pretty much just the Leafs of the MLB.

Boone will not be fired though because he is just a Cashman puppet.

Yup, Ottavino stinking it up during the 2019 playoffs should have been a red flag that another bullpen arm was going to be needed this year, even before the Kahnle injury. Loaisiga, Holder, etc. were never going to get the job done.

Right, if you're not gonna have a star-studded lineup, then you need that approach.

We don't have the talent anymore to back up being the "Bronx Bombers." A-Rod retired.

If nothing else Boone has to go.

Hire, Showalter, hire Bochy, even hire AJ Hinch just to piss everyone off. Just hire some else... Aaron Boone does not get the most from his players.

I really do like Judge and I wanna keep him but I think we need to understand what he is an plan accordingly.

He's a tall Bobby Abreu who had one bonkers season.

Cashman needs to be fired asap. 20 years with the most resources in the league, 1 WS. No pitching developed within. No pitching addressed.

And Boone should be on the chopping block. But if anything, Cashman GTFO.

Keep in mind during that one season Joe Girardi was the manager.

I mean the manager probably isn't that important, but in 2017 Girardi batted him all over the lineup, with the plurality of games at 3rd. Boone on the other hand is obsessed with batting him 2nd in the order.

I think the biggest victim of all this is Gleyber Torres.

He could be a legit superstar. He has speed, patience, can hit to all fields. He reminds me of Ramirez.

He's hitting like a f***ing meathead and you know this staff isn't going to tell him not to.

Girardi was the reason we tinkered with the pitching too much. Boone does the same thing.

Kevin Long was the reason it was boom or bust and then it was Marcus Thames. It's still the same thing.

Rothschild was the reason the pitching staff imploded. He's gone and it got worse.

The reason is Cashman. This is his philosophy and it doesn't work.
