At this point who isn’t part of the JRod group? Just saw that Travis Kelce,Demarco Murray, Joe Thomas, Brian Urlacher,Mason Plumlee, and Bradley Beal are part of that. What a weird assortment. Come on Cohen get this over with.

Watching that Yankees vs. Mets game was great.

Even though it was just an exhibition game, it was the first competitive action from any of the Big 4 leagues in months. I'm excited for the season.

Yeah for sure, it was just weird seeing all the familiar names.
Yup. I feel like the larger, more successful teams always have lots of guys around the league. As they're always in contention, they're constantly adding smaller (or even larger) pieces that they later cut loose. They're also good at developing players and as such develop more players than the lesser teams.

Like, Baltimore has sucked ass for a while now, I bet most of the guys that they rostered who are no longer with the organization are free agents or trying to hang on in the minors. Your Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers-type teams don't roster shitty players (generally) so when they let guys go, they still have legitimate ML careers or hopes.

I fail to see how A-Rod saying there should be a salary cap is an issue. He's right. There should be one. And the fact that he was the highest paid player in his day has nothing to do with the discussions. He was offered those deals should he have turned them down and asked for less?

He benefitted immensely from a system that the MLBPA fought tooth and nail to create and preserve. Now that he's trying to become an owner himself, that system that allowed him to become one of the richest athletes in history is a bad thing that needs to be changed? Come on.

All he has talked about the past several months is the need for harmony between players and owners and the need to just get something done. Why didn't he take that position when he was playing? Because he wanted to get every last dollar he could (as was his right). Same guy that simultaneously sued the MLBPA and MLB because of his own personal misdeeds and repeated lies. He's an opportunist who will do and say whatever he thinks he needs to do to benefit himself, everyone else be damned.

Good chance that neither Shreve nor Cabrera make it.
Yeah they aren't on the roster so I didn't even think of them.

Are you talking about Derek Jeter or A-rod? :D

that’s not really his history though. He even tried to take a lesser deal to be dealt to Boston and the MLBPA rejected it and didn’t let him. Either way I think it’s pretty obvious perspectives would change when being a player vs not being a player. For basically anyone other than a player or a fan of a major market team a salary cap is much better for parity/cost certainty

not that he ever had a real chance it sounds like J-Rod is out as potential buyers and its now down to Cohen vs Harris/Blitzer
