Mixed teams in World Cup 2016?

Commentators on both sides of the Atlantic have torn this idea to shreds in another thread.
The latest news is that the mixed "all-star" teams were a "trial balloon" but the mere fact that it is being contemplated at all says a lot about the mentality of those putting this event together.
The World Cup can still be a great event, as it was in 1996 and 2004, but for that to happen the NHL has to exile the originator of the "mixed team" idea to Guam and ensure that he never touches anything hockey-related again.
