Sabres send two Minnesotans home for Buffalonian Marcus Foligno. The Wild get younger, while the Sabres get some more experience and someone who can add some much needed physicality.
Foligno is a useful play but the Sabers would be crazy to trade Johnson for him straight up.Lol Minnesota says no easy! Minnesota doesn't need an ld or d for that matter. No foligno isn't getting traded. No matter what Middlestat doesn't have that value
Isn't Ryan Johnson going to be a UFA this summer?Foligno is a useful play but the Sabers would be crazy to trade Johnson for him straight up.
I'm working under the assumption that he hasn't rejected playing for the Sabers but I honestly have zero idea on this.Isn't Ryan Johnson going to be a UFA this summer?
No chance man, try sending your first from Minnesota too. Foligno has no valueSabres send two Minnesotans home for Buffalonian Marcus Foligno. The Wild get younger, while the Sabres get some more experience and someone who can add some much needed physicality.
Johnson is nothing. He's a free agent and ld Minnesota is stacked at. D alone for future us a position Minnesota is stacked at. Casey Middlestat is worth a 2ndFoligno is a useful play but the Sabers would be crazy to trade Johnson for him straight up.

A hockey fan said this?
I should rephrase it. Foligno has no value to Buffalo. Foligno is 32 next season, injuries take a toll on a physical player. It doesn't make sense for Buffalo to trade away 2 players under 24 for someone who probably wont be in the NHL in 3 years."Johnson is nothing" is just as defensible an opinion as "Foligno has no value". Probably even moreso.
Read it. I said Johnson is nothing to Minnesota because we are stacked at LD. Apparently you are ignoring that. Tge same Johnson who might not even sign with Buffalo?"Johnson is nothing" is just as defensible an opinion as "Foligno has no value". Probably even moreso.

Reinhart got a 1st and Levi and Buchnevich got a 2ndFoligno is an excellent defensive player and provides physical elements and secondary scoring. I don't see how Mittelstadt and Johnson's rights address anything with Minnesota that would make them want to move him for that return.
Not yet. Buffalo could also trade his rights away. Didn't Vesey rights get a 3rd?Counterpoint: Johnson is 8 months away from being an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any team he wants, and with Dahlin and Power in front of him on the depth chart, he's as good as gone from Buffalo. So really you're not losing anything in that regard, because he's already gone.
Reinhart got a 1st and Levi and Buchnevich got a 2nd
Did the market change for forwards?

I never made the proposal that being said Foligno isn't going to put Buffalo in the playoffs so its a wasted trade either way.How does either player offered help Minnesota?
Reinhart asked for a trade. Rangers wanted Sami and were desperate to get rid of Pavel. Big difference is foligno type player don't get traded. Even Arizona gave Crouse 5 years extensionReinhart got a 1st and Levi and Buchnevich got a 2nd

I wonder if Johnson takes a look at Middleton/Merrill and thinks "I can beat those guys and play with my current linemate Brock Faber."
I'd be game to sign him this upcoming offseason for free.
I've seen a few fans from different teams willing to trade a late 1st for Foligno. I'd consider that in this draft.
Reinhart asking for a trade doesn't lower his value and he was property of Buffalo. Chychrun asked for a trade, Eichel asked for a trade. Not sure thats a point in your favor.Reinhart asked for a trade. Rangers wanted Sami and were desperate to get rid of Pavel. Big difference is foligno type player don't get traded. If Buffalo is going to trade for a player with a physical element to his game that can chip in some offense then that player should be 25-28 but Foligno doesn't really fit the window for Buffalo.I would also think that Johnson looks at the 4-7 on the Sabres and figures he can beat out all of them as well. The narrative about there being some other players ahead of him? For a guy who doesn't play PP on his collegiate team? Nah, doesn't hold water.
