Foligno is a useful play but the Sabers would be crazy to trade Johnson for him straight up.

"Johnson is nothing" is just as defensible an opinion as "Foligno has no value". Probably even moreso.

Foligno is an excellent defensive player and provides physical elements and secondary scoring. I don't see how Mittelstadt and Johnson's rights address anything with Minnesota that would make them want to move him for that return.

I should rephrase it. Foligno has no value to Buffalo. Foligno is 32 next season, injuries take a toll on a physical player. It doesn't make sense for Buffalo to trade away 2 players under 24 for someone who probably wont be in the NHL in 3 years.

Read it. I said Johnson is nothing to Minnesota because we are stacked at LD. Apparently you are ignoring that. Tge same Johnson who might not even sign with Buffalo?

I'd be game to sign him this upcoming offseason for free.

I've seen a few fans from different teams willing to trade a late 1st for Foligno. I'd consider that in this draft.

I never made the proposal that being said Foligno isn't going to put Buffalo in the playoffs so its a wasted trade either way.

Reinhart asking for a trade doesn't lower his value and he was property of Buffalo. Chychrun asked for a trade, Eichel asked for a trade. Not sure thats a point in your favor.

If Buffalo is going to trade for a player with a physical element to his game that can chip in some offense then that player should be 25-28 but Foligno doesn't really fit the window for Buffalo.
