When Johan actually stopped Vanek in the shootout, I was like "HOLY ****!! Hedberg actually STOPPED A SHOOTOUT GOAL????"


Yes, I was THAT annoyed with him after the last shootout disaster.


Glad to see that he played much better this time around.

Oh and it's nice to see the Devils not miss the friggin' net entirely this time around in the shootout either.

When we started to get momentum, everyone was chipping in besides a select few (Sal and Volch IMO)

Is there no context when people analyze these games? Buffalo might have the worst record in the league but they are playing with playoff desperation. They know that they need to win virtually every game. You expect them to come out and just lay down? A guy like Vanek on any team is going to make them a threat on any given night. When you think about these bad team that the Devils have been losing to, they are pretty ****ing desperate for wins. They are playing with more desperation than any teams that are at the top of the standings.

The Devils only had 2 wins in the last 3+ weeks coming into tonight and spent the first 55 minutes making Enroth look like a god. It's one thing if NJ was playing well and losing to teams 'putting it all on the line', but NJ was making tons of mistakes that immediately wound up in their own net, continually killing any momentum they had and magnified all the chances they couldn't bury.

One win doesn't fix all that.
