We're all loving this. Worst board around. They've shit talked the Oilers so much, and Edmonton in general. Always like to see some adversity there.

Things are going to go to shit with the Rantanen contract. They're f***ed either way. Lose the player or pay WAY too much for him.

You hate to see it. But more than that, you love to see it.

Yeh I give zero shits about it
I'm not sold either way. Its better than an ASG week. Thing is back in the day former stars had the Canada Cup and such things that were a lot of fun and some legend moments. This isn't on that par, but perhaps an indication from NHL that they need to do something like that again. Would prefer it be preseason and those were awesome. McD hasn't had the opportunity to be in these things. Only the one tournament where he was on the unders team.

Doesn’t a Podkolzin know hes not allowed to tip in goals on this team. Haha

Nice team win. Hopefully Skinner can put together a bit of a run. Starting to get bit more production down the line up. Special teams starting to look like they are normalizing.

Hopefully Ryan and Cagguila come out of the lineup when Hyman and Arvidsson are back. Not sure who’s playing center though.

I can barely remember what happened the last time the NHL had fake Olympics. Nothing legendary came out of that tourney. It’s just not the real deal.

I really like the deployment they have right now with him. Just a really good level right now, not giving him too much but making sure he’s getting more and more comfortable. Have no doubt Coffey is really helping him too and Knobs system is great for D-men.
They’ve done a great job of managing the hole in the 4 spot with a mix of Kulak/Emberson/Stetcher but I think long term it’s not wise to lean on Kulak so heavily on his off side. As well they need to keep testing Emberson, he definitely passed the assignment tonight.

You're young though. Canada Cup was awesome sauce. If they could make something like that grow again its some magic and increases NHL exposure much more. Its weird they haven't tried for a long time.

It started off spotty, but man have they really managed that role well. Just no headache, steady defence on that right side.

That’s why at the TDL I want better than just stable solid Vet. If we upgrade the right side we need a difference maker.

I’m not talking Canada cup. I was too young for Gretz+Lemiuex but I know the story and the highlights and it was awesome. Im talking about when they had Team North America vs. countries tourney, Matthews and McDavid on the same team. Only thing that came out of that tourney was a unique Jersey.

Agreed. But its bigtime NHL being dumb. "Team Europe" isn't marketable. Needs to be actual Nations, and thats how you spread the exposure and create the global interest. No reason not to do it and now you even have Germany as an added competitive hockey Nation. Something like Canada, US, Sweden, Finland, Germany and whoever else.

Yeh national pride needs to be on the line. Can’t have national pride for team North America or team Europe. Also:

There’s a different feeeel when it’s international too. Like truly international and not in the NHLs pervue. Something about them cowbells and large rink makes it feel special. I’m not sure if they’ll do international rink size, probably not. But i was always an advocate for the large ice, I think talent shines with more space and it’s a classier game, albeit less physical game.

Pretty sure Cagguila is coming out. Most likely Ryan will be played sparingly. Load management among certain vets.

Just watched the SNET Youtube highlites. I wish we got that Stuart SKinner more often. He looked like he was hungry in the net.

I still wish he was a split second faster at anticipating the cross ice passes, but can't complain. He looked to have made a lot of good saves.

Jeff SKinner looked like he was doing a good job using his legs and actually protecting the puck for some good passes.

Good to see Podz and Kap both score again.
