I assume a Fwd will go at the deadline in a deal for a D. Kapanen likely odd man out but boy I like his speed out there.
Isn't he cheap? Man I would retain him if he continues to play like this. I didn't even see the suspect own zone play that people are commenting on. Worked hard and making smart plays and setting up some chances. Intelligent cycle game and what I like is it isn't peripheral with him. Getting to danger areas and putting pucks there.

Also seems to have good sense in the D zone thus far. Had a great read that lead to a good block in the last few minutes.

Yeah I feel the same way, hopefully he continues to impress.

HF Ave meltdown, fire the coach. MacKinnon washed up, trade Rantanen. Hey, they just suck ass.
We're all loving this. Worst board around. They've shit talked the Oilers so much, and Edmonton in general. Always like to see some adversity there.

Things are going to go to shit with the Rantanen contract. They're f***ed either way. Lose the player or pay WAY too much for him.

Emberson continues to look more and more comfortable. Played almost 20 minutes tonight, I wonder if they start ramping up deployment with him.

Couple days off heading into Vegas, it’s a trap game but good chance to put a win streak together and show what team they are.
I really like the deployment they have right now with him. Just a really good level right now, not giving him too much but making sure he’s getting more and more comfortable. Have no doubt Coffey is really helping him too and Knobs system is great for D-men.

Really impressed with tonight’s game. Avalanche are a shell of the team that won 2 years ago, but they’re still dangerous.

Goalie-wise, Skinner was good when he had to be. And on the other end, not that he cost them the game (the Oilers were significantly better than the Avs tonight), Georgiev is absolutely one of the 10 worst starters in the league. Maybe even bottom 5.
2 games in a row that the Oilers haven't been "outgoalied."

Podz and Kap have been a good injection of size and speed. We still got great coaching and the Twin Powers. If the Vet wingers start coming through and finding their groove, look out, we’ll be a wagon.
it’d be nice just to give mcdavid and Drai a night off here and there too. They’re truly great but there’s too much pressure on them, they’re capable but I want them to have enough in the tank for the playoffs

They complement each other nicely I think. But especially as I say with Drai. Shoutout to Leon again owning the dot tonight. AV's were frustrated all night. One puck and they can't get it. Also clinical Oilers performance during the 4 on 4. AV's expect to own those.

Gonna focus on a play. Oilers shorthanded on the Brown penalty, 8mins left. Ekholm just intercepts a pass behind his net, does it cleanly and gets the exit. It was a Pronger play. Oilers break the AV's PP cycle and break their spirit. One of many plays that add up to the big W.
Ekholm is unbelievable. I consider him the team’s 3rd best player.

They can get focused down in the playoffs too. We really need scoring throughout the line up if want to go all the way.

Hated them since flat faced Roy played there, their entitled fan base can F¥€k right off.
