I still don't like Arvid. heh. I would really like to see Kapanen have a look with Drai too. Seems like his cycle game could really work with Leon. Nuge needs to be up on first line just for his 200ft game anyway. You can't have all riverboat gamblers on topline.
They were really buzzing together for a good 3, 4 games. Better puck luck and they might have had something special going there. Dude needs to stay healthy though.

Ahh yes. Good game. Solid all around. Maybe this season isn't a wash. Still need to get younger and a bit faster on the backend.

Nuge is mostly washed. I don’t think he can handle playing against top lines consistently anymore.

Islands in the stream.
Drai cleaned up in the dot. Did you notice how many passes the Avs forced because Drai was plugging up the lanes? Drai had the puck a ton in the neutral zone which just shows he was in the right spot defensively.
He was a tank all over the ice and controlling tempo and bossing puck. Even when he slows it down he's like "try and take it off me" AV's didn't have the structure tonight, or really the D size, to even contend. Games like this players like
Girard, Toews, etc look like clowns. Even Makar looked really off. The Oilers positioning and attention to detail tonight was playoff like. Best I've seen from the team by miles this season. Frustrating the AV's with structure. So much the AV's fans getting on their own team. Love that sequence where Girard behind his net not finding anything. No pass available. haha

I agree completely. Yes they’ve tried Kane with Drai before and it wasn’t great, but if Drais other winger has good chemistry I think it would work. Kane just needs to play his game, be physical, hammer the puck on net as much as possible, they would be a tough line to handle.
I don’t know if this narrative is quite fair. Kane has been so injured the past couple years and it affected his play. Let’s see how they look together when Kane comes in healthy.

Insane forward depth, just ridiculous lol.
With the way Podz and Kapanen are playing and with the playoffs 3rd line playing well again, I don't know where all the bodies are going to fit but....good problem to have
I assume a Fwd will go at the deadline in a deal for a D. Kapanen likely odd man out but boy I like his speed out there.

I don't agree. Which might surprise you. Nuge is guilty of picking his spots. He shouldn't, but he's pacing himself through the 82 game course. I don't think he's washed.
I think he’s lost a step and it’s affecting his ability to make those last second plays he’s used to making.

...and f*** off to none of those rosters having Bouchard as a dman on team Canada.

We all know these rosters are based on the here and now and like a big All Star game... so don't bs about "defensive abilities".

Makar is minus 2
Theodore is minus 2

Bouchard is #5 in scoring among Canadian dmen and is +4. He absolutely should be in consideration for that glorified All Star game series.

Bouchard had a crap game against the Leafs, which happened to be the only one they watched.

I agree. But if they snub him his contract will be better. So whatevs. If the hockey world wants to keep sleeping on Bouch, it only helps the Oilers.
