I suspect something is up, sooner than later. This is more than I would have wanted to pay Miko, puts us over cap, and walks him to free agency. Seems like only reason to do this deal now was for cost certainty (he is arb eligible) because that was needed for another move.
100% agree.

If the Blues make a trade, I think its got to be Krug, Scandella or maybe Tarasenko (in that order).

I'm not sure who Krug would OK a trade to, but Boston has been rumored. I don't know what their situation is enough to know if its plausible.

That’s more than I was expecting. I can only assume the Blues didn’t like their chances in arbitration as with them being that tight up against the Cap, I would’ve expected them to fight more for something in the $1.3-1.5M range.

This will put them slightly over the Cap with a 23-man roster that includes Neighbors so I can only assume a trade will have to come. Will it be a big trade (Tarasenko/Krug) or a smaller one (Scandella, Barbashev…maybe even Mikkola himself as I agree with Moho that this situation seems very similar to the Edmundson situation)?

Still much better value than Scandella. It is clear they need to do whatever necessary to move Marco. Moving anyone else weakens us.
