Why add in Sheahan? Has had his worst year of his career so far and won't draw much interest from a contender. If it comes to it just seek the Yandle return for Green and if not just keep him.

For Mike Green many have said that it would be similar to the Yandle package which I would be fine in getting back, however I don't see any team giving too much for Sheahen. He is very inconsistent and he doesn't really play a physical game. He is just a 3c-4c at this point who may fetch a 3rd.

From Habs, I'd offer McCarron+ 2nd. Could factor in Beaulieu, and remove/reduce the pick.

Sheahan is basically the same player - a little toughness that McCarron is, just 3 years into the future.

Again, Beaulieu can replace Green , while being 6 years younger and at a 1M cost. Not sure what Wings fan value Green at. Personally, he can play on 1st pair, but is more a 3/4. That being said, the pick compensates for the ``immediate`` impact Green makes vs Beaulieu.

So offer is:

Beaulieu+McCarron+2nd for Green (50%), Sheahan

That seems terrible for Montreal. You should be able to get a better defenceman for that.

What's going on with Sheahan?

From a Rangers POV, Green is a PMD we could use.

I just don't know what we could offer that would be mutually beneficial/interesting. We don't have too many prospects we'd be able to trade.

Oscar Lindberg would be available, but that would be lateral with Sheahan at best.

Top 4 D don't grow on trees hehe. Imo, it is a `little` much, but to make a trade at this time of year, you need to slightly overpay

Might as well wait until after the expansion draft and trade Green this summer. Too many teams are short dmen protection slots.

If I was the Habs, I'd be all over Sheahan. What would Detroit want, realistically?

No use for Green really though.

How about Green without retention + Sheahan for Nuge? Hopkins needs a change of scenery at this point, he's been surpassed by Draisaitl in a big way. We also need a RH point shot for the PP.

Thoughts Wings fans?

I'd offer the sabres third for sheahan which is likely to be higher than most teams inquiring. Derek grant has no place as 4th line center on an nhl team. I'd throw riley there and hope he shows glimmers of his former promise...if not oh well addition by subtraction in terms of grant.

Orlov and a non first round pick or prospect. the caps might could do that with the retain. Might be the Caps need him for their PP and Orlov's left shot really doesn't fit the Caps system

I'd do it from a Wings POV, but not sure Edmonton should be giving up Nuge.

Please explain to me why the DRW would RETAIN 50% of and trade a R handed defenseman they've been looking for years that is honestly their best defenseman right now?

No way in hell.

Done deal would love to see Nuge in a Red Wings Jersey, Green+Sheahan is a fair offer for Nuge. Let's get Chia and Holland together to make it happen.
