If it was me I would read anyone over 25 years old on a long term deal.

Mika - bye
Kreider - see ya
Panarin - drive myself
Trocheck - smell ya
Goodrow - peace
Trouba - door

Centers are hard to find, you don’t throw them away unless it’s a severe overpay.

It was a bad 7 games, but he is also someone that has stepped up huge in previous playoffs.

I'm not sure, I wonder what he could return. He was phenomenal last years playoffs. But if we're really going for a big retool it might be a good idea.

If they could, yeah absolutely.

Next #1 center they acquire has to be able to stickhandle through traffic, that's a prerequisite.

I've never seen one player keep trying and failing so much in that regard.

I would truly hate to see Mika go, but I also have grown sick of seeing that fkn one-timer on the PP.

He was our only forward this series who had jump. Stick a righty in the bumper and it fixes the PP which he is lethal at. Verdict: Keep

He a had shit series, like almost everyone. Still put up 4 in 7, has 28 pts in his last 27 playoff games, 174 pts in the last two seasons, and was top 20 in NHL scoring this season while being very good defensively, and has just turned 30.
If you want to scorch-earth the place then I guess you could trade him because assets will be made available for him, but we'll spend the next 5 years trying to find a #1 center who comes remotely close to replacing him

I'm not a Rangers fan or don't know I how I ended up here, but what's the point of selling 1C when you're contending? You will not find an another for years. Didn't you finish rebuild like a year ago?

And usually when good player plays bad series it just means he was playing with injury.

Mika isn't the problem, the problem is the organizations inability to see a rebuild through.

Fans are pissed and want heads. That’s what’s going on here. I agree with you. Mika is not a problem, and even if he was, the Rangers have zero candidates to replace him. It would set the organization back significantly, without an exit plan.

It depends on the offers, but as a low end but true 1C, he’s worth keeping.

The list of guys out the door should be first Trouba, and then, in no particular order, Goodrow, Panarin, Kreider, Trocheck.

You need to get bad enough for more lottery picks, you need to clear cap space, and you need to clean out the front office and whatever developmental and philosophical staff is here preventing our development of high end offense. Is it just Sather? If so then there’s no hope, but hopefully there are others who can be fired.

Not gonna win with Mika as your #1.

Same goes for Panarin as your top LW

Need to completely change the way they play as a team and you start that by moving the drivers.

No, the rebuild wasn't finished a year ago. They stopped and pivoted. Big difference

Yeah but as a center Zibanejad does have inherent value to us, more than a winger like Panarin.

Though like I said, let me see the offers. Three unprotected firsts from Montreal? Then yes.

A first and a second from Dallas? Then no.

Same with the Panarin thread, this can be discussed in the Roster Rebuild thread.
