Mika on pace for 100 points this season had he played all 82 games

2 more years left. If he puts up 80-100 points each of his next 2 seasons how much are we paying him?

Point a game star centers easily will command 9-10M on the open market. Will we even have enough money to re-sign him? Now in 3 years we will be in our cup window, unlike now, so we have to make sure we keep him.

Unless someoen really steps up out of nowhere i don't see how you can not re-sign him unless you have significant injury concerns.

It could be a very long time before the Rangers have another shot at a center of his caliber so you find a way to make it work

Agreed. You find a way. Legitimate #1 centers don't grow on trees.

Gonna play a devil's advocate given his injury history. Let's assume he signs for 8 years 9-10 M per. Then he has another concussion and is done. Does his contract come to haunt us or can we just put him on LTIR and everything is cool? Not sure how that works.

Yeah sign him. Like a few others have said I don't see him as the type to ask for a crazy amount. Zib seems like he loves the city, understands his role and the direction of the team on top of loving the team I don't see why he wouldn't want to continue what's working.

When we are able to sign him to extension we will have hank staal and smith all coming off the books, we can afford to give him a 4-5 million dollar pay increase

LMAO you guys are awesome...the ink on kreider's contract hasn't even dried yet and we've already moved onto the next contract that is going to doom our fate due to the cap. after unloading brady I thought we'd get a few hours without cap worries...silly me lol
