maybe Seattle would offer Stephenson to get outta that contract but byslma loves Shane Wright. He just led them to the finals 2 years in a row in the ahl

Unless you are a team looking to win this year and need to strengthen center depth, I don't see the purpose for Seattle doing this

Wright has positive value. Zibanejad has negative value.

This would be a heist for the Rangers. No way Seattle takes on one of the worst contracts in the league for a player who may be completely cooked. Wright could bust. He’s still on an ELC. Won’t hurt the cap.

If Mika goes to Seattle it’s going to be like for Gourde and Tanev. They aren’t getting Wright

Doesn't Zibanejad have a full no-move clause until the final year of his contract (2029-30)? Even if he can be traded, I wouldn't trade Zibanejad for Shane Wright.

Yeah what kind of idiot GM would trade a young, top 5 pick, star center in the making for an older player with less potential? And add a second round pick to the deal.
Note I said "hard to see" not "no way dude so and so hangs up the phone and blocks your number". Mistakes happen, but as time goes on it seems the cap and analytics with things like aging curves become more important not less important. For the proposed trade, Seattle only has about $5.5 mil in cap space. They'd have to do some surgery to fit in Zibanejad. Why are they doing that here? It's just sort of an incongruous trade that I'm guessing was proposed by a frustrated Rangers fan.

I understand Wright has been terrible so far but Seattle isn't taking on big contracts.

He does. But he gets a raise if he goes from New York to Seattle because it’s no state income tax. That’s kind of what they have to hope for. Seattle, Nashville, Vegas, Dallas, Florida/Tampa

That’s basically it

From a practical viewpoint, he needs to be in NYC to meet regularly with his record producer.

Star center?

He's gone scoreless in 15 of 16 games this year for Seattle. 0 points in his last 11 games with only 5 shots on goal. He's now gone 5 consecutive games without registering a shot. They gave him a chance to center some of the team's top scorers at the start of the season, but he just didn't take advantage.

He's got an NHL future but I'm not sure I would bet on him becoming a star.

He's referring to the trade that sent Zibanejad to New York.

Although Zbad was picked 6th overall.
