I finally see this team starting to gel with the new system....

The defense looks good and by golly they can score some goals.

When Lundqvist gets in the zone come playoff time this team could do some damage.

Looking forward to the games.

I'd still like to see a little toughness added at the deadline but I wouldnt rock the chemistry too much right now. I like what I'm seeing.

Close the thread..don't jinx it

Typically rookie ranger fan..win a few and we are on our way to the cup

Uhh, Chariot has been around for a bit... What a sin! A positive Rangers related thread on HF!

I agree with Chariot though... It's taken awhile, but our persistence in the offensive zone appears to be paying off now.

Wat.

I mean, let's not be jumping to conclusions, but if anything doing so and jinxing the team is a veteran Rangers fan move.

I am not giving this team any credit they do not deserve YET.

This is HF, get your optimism the **** outa here!

But really I totally agree this team as a whole has finally turned the corner with this new system. I just hope they can keep it up and finish strong.

This is exactly why I had been preaching not to give up on the team. They were not as bad as the early struggles. That was adapting to a new system along with Hank's bad play. Now that the two seem to be less of an issue, the team should do well.

My only fear is that they looked like this earlier in the season. Remember that long stretch of games where we gave up 2 or fewer? The O at some point was scoring too. Then the wheels came off for a while. It's been a roller coaster ride. It's nice to see Staal play better than he has all season.

we should start a thread about other ridiculous threads:\

Zucc - will he pass through waivers:laugh:
What's wrong with Hank?
Trade Nash

This should teach us to be patient. New coach, New System, Team seems to have confidence now

The East is wide open why not get in and give it a go?

I look forward to being amused by this thread.

The glass half empties against the half fulls. Always fun here.

While I wouldn't crack any champagne bottles or anoint them as contenders, I certainly think they have settled down.

The team is starting to get the system and is benefiting from a weak eastern conference. They still need to address parts of their roster, but we aren't in the tailspin from a month and a half ago. AV has also given us a better idea how he wants these guys to play. I think we are on the right path. The team is also get rewarded for finally having a functional transition game and PP.

The thing that worries me is any olympic hangover.

What I like is how evenly distributed our goal scoring is. It's like Boston's where they can score from any one line. That's dangerous.

I do think Poo will fall back down to earth so I think we need another goal scorer to really balance that 3rd line out when he does. We also need a bigger, tougher guy, to be our enforcer, but as of now I like how the 4th line is playing.

Defense is settling down. We won't need the enforcer if we change out Moore with Falk.

This, ofcourse, is an incredibly shortsighted needs analysis based on this season's team only.

I have been saying all along that I think the hardest part will be for the Rangers to make the playoffs but once in they will do some damage. Last year if they could have stolen game 1 against Boston in OT I think they would have won that series. This years team is better than last years in my opinion.

As far as the Rangers doing some damage in playoffs, I don't know guys. This team doesn't have a whole lotta grit/toughness. Even though they won against Ottawa today, they got beat up physically. Thats going to be a problem.

Now I'm not saying that you have to win with size and grit. But, all of their top offensive threats would need to be hot for them to overcome that imo.

I'm just not sure if that is going to happen with this team. There is so many guys who are streaky. I think the Rangers need some more dynamic scoring to take full advantage of their system.

Its still a "work in progress" imo.

"You know, you go out there and you give a 110%, and you wanna play good, and, you know, you hope you play good... I think we played pretty good tonight."

Never gets old.

Haven't felt this good about the way a Rangers team was playing since January of 2012. The remainder of this month will be a huge test though.
