I see some resemblance. However I think Wheeler is a better skating but McCarron is more physical.

I've been very impressed by his hockey sense. He knows where to go on the ice. I expected him to struggle in that regard.

Every time you compare a player god kills a kitten.

HFB mods actually do that

I hope McCarron becomes a John Leclair, you can see he has hands around the net, he just needs to improve his balance, but in the 2 games I saw from him he gets himself open in front of the net and can make plays. I see him more like a power forward down low, big presence in front of the net and along the boards. Cant really comment on his deking skills but they dont seem too bad.

Wheeler has wheels and isnt a typical power forward, more like a finesse player in a tall frame, never really noticed a physical game from him. Wheeler has better hands and will move the puck himself in the offensive zone with his speed, or recover loose pucks on dump ins and that is something McCarron will have to work on, because it's obvious that he's a little bit slow out there.

I see him as a 6"5 Plekanec, more physical, a winger, without the dominant two way play and rely his phycality to make room for himself and his teamates.

Also he fights.

McCarron speed isn't even close to Wheeler as it stands. I'd like him to develop more of a mean streak than Wheeler as well.

Great comparison...except Wheeler and McCarron play two absolutely different games...next, do Diaz compared to Karlsson, since they're also roughly the same size...:shakehead
