“They’ve been Ranger fans forever,†he said. “We’ve had season tickets since 1966 or 1964, I’m pretty sure, and my family still goes to games all the time. I try to get to a game here and there, but it’s a little different now that I’m playing in the organization.

“When I was younger our seats were on the Rangers’ side of the ice, behind the net, up like 25, 30 rows, and then we ended up moving them, and now we’re like ten rows behind the benches.

“All the time, we went to games, as many home games as I could possibly o to, I went.â€

Ah Plainview, NY...I was born there. Good town. I'm now rooting for this kid even more LOL. Even though it's in the middle of Islanders territory Plainview has a HUGE Rangers fan base.

Great story, good intangibles, what are his odds of making it though?

Better than people think. He could be a quality NHL 4th line spark plug. We need it and he'd make a few million over a few years in the NHL.

From what I've seen he's not a very good fighter. He'll probably get better at that as he gets older, stronger and a bit wiser. He looks like a great agitator and a guy that hits anything that moves.

Maybe if we brought up more kids like this instead of signing old guys who cant skate, our bottom 6 wouldnt be the worst in the league.

Confused. Do you not like Kantor?

I don't know. My point is when people are calling for him to be brought up because, in their mind, it's him or a an aging Asham, nobody can tell me that this organization has depth. Bodies, maybe, but that's not depth. It's more of Russia in WWI mentality.

Ah, okay I get your point and totally agree. Sorry, haven't had my coffee yet.

He's not bad and knows what he's doing in his scraps. Definitely needs to get stronger/fill out. Definitely has decent wheels. Hopefully he can put up some points too.

If Kantor fills out to 210-215 pounds, I see him having no problem with the middleweights of the NHL. He's a smart fighter.

I hope he makes the team in a few years, would be nice to finally have a homegrown 4th liner.
