Speculation: Michael Bunting (a realistic look at)

I'm not expecting much. He reminds me a bit of Connor brown type of guy

I'm not sure if he's really better than Joey Anderson. Sure his numbers look better in NHL but he only played handful of games

Connor Brown, the high energy, hard working, strong defensively, high end PKer, who just scored 21 goals in 56 games (31 Goal pace)? I think your expectations are pretty high if that's the type of player you think he is.

Not against giving this player a try but I agree that Joey Anderson is more likely to turn out to be a better player than Bunting.
 
I'm actually pretty optimistic about Bunting. His underlying numbers are decent enough, so I think he's clearly an NHL player. He's not going to shoot 20%, but with his propensity to get to the net and be a willing digger, I think he could play the poor-man's Hyman role on one of the top two lines. Over 82 games, I think 10-15 goals and 30-35 points is realistic.

For 900k, there's not much better value than that.

I really hope he recovers for his own health and the rest of his life and I hope he recovers from a Leafs point of view.
I’m just not sure this will happen

Based on what indication?

Ones had success in NHL (albeit small sample size) and one hasn't been able to stick.
 
Seems the people who have more experience watching him play, ie his ex coaches seem more hawkish on him than the Toronto talk radio guys.will have to wait and see whose right

Browie has more skill but Bunting has more grit .. both skate similar .. Bunting a little tougher on wall .. each can pot 20 goals per .. both great team guys
 
if he doesnt make the roster im not watching one regular season game. i wasnt planning on watching any regular season games but when i heard about this guy the leafs are again on my radar.

I like the way you think.

Bunting scoring more than Hyman would also be fun.

of course, Bunting might not be any good, but fun to think about anyways.
