Russian major junior league, MHL, will test two rules in upcoming 2024-25 season.
1. If any player of the attacking team, controlling or possessing the puck behind the center red line, brings the puck back to his half of the ice by any means, and his teammate takes possession of the puck, play shall be stopped. The face-off shall take place in the zone of the offending team. A two-minute penalty for delay of game will be imposed for each subsequent offense.
2. The play does not stop after the puck hits the curved glass located at the end of the players' bench. Tregular time & OT. The change is aimed at reducing the number of pauses in hockey games.
