2-years old and glued to the glass......i may have the makings of a rink rat

Great photos, Pete. Thanks for sharing. Your little guy is a cute one.

Nice to see our AHL champions like Mersch get some recognition during their day with the Cup. Hope Mersch gets another day with the Cup in the future.

How awesome! Congrats!

Love your kid watching too, that's great, haha. Get ready to shell out for some gear :sarcasm:

Nice guy, wish I could have hung around longer. My kid was losing his ***** so it was time to get out of there.

He was out in LA at TSC last week he said. Didn't get a chance to learn more about what was going on.

He was out in the lobby of the rink when I walked in, with about 5 kids showing them the trophy. He did a double take when he saw me with the LA hat. When I talked to him later he said it surprised him being in BHawks country.

One of the other guys I coach with at the rink coached Mike as a kid and explained to him I'm feeding him and the other guys at the rink info on his progress. I link them into all the Kings blogs when there is an article on Mike.

He's looking forward to camp. I mentioned he has King in front of him and he grinned. Unfortunately didn't have more time to talk due to my son running around and being 2. He is running leaner than I was expecting. I was expecting 210 or so weight wise, but he looks good and fit at this point.

My kid will be hitting the ice this winter for the first time, will be around 2.5 at that point. I'm not to concerned about gear at this point. We've got so much used stuff at the rink it is unbelievable. I'm really looking forward to getting him out there and seeing if he likes it.

damn, didn't know this was right out in Park Ridge. I'm in the heart of Blackhawks country too and this would have been cool to see the Calder. That's awesome though, great pics!

That's awesome. I wish there was a Monarch from near me that would bring the Calder Cup here. I got so wrapped up in their run, I even bought Champs gear. So it would be nice to get a pic with a player and the Cup. Had I been in my home town last year, I could've as a Texas Stars player had it at a golf course two blocks from my parents' house. But alas, I was at my home a two hour drive away when I saw the post on Twitter.

I wish the AHL or someone would track the Calder Cup tour. I'd hate to find out after the fact, that a coach or other hockey ops person within the Monarchs had the Cup nearby and I missed it.
