Sharks- Get a skilled forward who can play the wing or centre. Might be a smart move as centre Thornton will likely retire at the end of the year.

We will have cap crunch as it is if Karlsson decides to sign long term without adding a guy likely to get 8-9 million. Meier is likely to get a bridge deal for 3-4 million shortly.

As a DRW fan I would consider offering

1) Zadina (future RW replacement)
2) nYQUIST (temp replacement)

(both for Kneelander)


good for wings for 2c behind larkin. Decent for leafs because get legit RW fire power to play with matthews now and for years to come at a lower cap hit.

Awful value for the Leafs, and I am a huge believer in Meier.


That said, I dont think San Jose should be doing this either. They win the trade from a pure value standpoint easily, but they're about to hit a major cap crunch if Karlsson re-signs(Which is obviously the plan for them). They need the cheap secondary scoring depth that a guy like Meier provides right now and cant really afford to pay Nylander what he wants right now.
