Media Availability - End Of Season (2022)

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Dubas saying Keefe will be talked about like Trotz/DeBoer are now in 15 years is one of the stupidest things I’ve heard if he meant that Keefe would become that caliber of coach in the future.

Why can’t we just hire that caliber of coach now and not waste the prime years of these players?

Again, what we propose on here doesn’t mean those are the only options. Who knows what’s available out there. At that end of the day, Shanahan and Dubas need to figure this stuff out because it‘s their job. Not ours.

I'm not looking to trade Marner either, I'm just open to all possibilities and will listen to offers for anyone. But sure if we trade one star player, it's likely Nylander. He's been so great for us and I would hate to lose him but you need a goalie in the playoffs, gotta give to get, yada yada yada.

It's Dubas job, absolutely. And I'm glad to have him too, despite losing to TB I like the way we played this season and feel pretty confident about the future for the first time in yuears.

I wouldn’t be moving Nylander for Gibson. I think injury history is building. Give me one of the Rangers goalies or that kid that almost single handedly beat Calgary. It has to be an impact, not questions.

They can make a splash & greatly change the look of the group and keep the big paid guys. There’s room if they’re willing to make some changes to the middle salary of the roster
 
I don't know what some of you expected them to say. No benefit to laying out their plans. If they talked big plans, guaranteed we'd see complaints like "talk less and do more". There's no winning (kind of like the hockey team).

Not sure why you'd expect a full game plan 2 days after the end of the season.

Did he say that, yikes that's dumb.

I think what he means is Keefe is already elite and will be widely recognized as being elite in the future. I can't agree though, I do think Keefe has been good but not that good.

Do you want the guy JD Bunkis says gets body bagged in trades, trading any of our stars?? He traded Kadri for Kerfoot and a year of one o fthe worst dmen every to wear blue and white.

Again, you’re talking like this is 2018 or 2019. Matthews only has 2 more years on his contract. There has to be a sense of urgency to go all in NOW.

If we’re talking about moving Willy to improve all around how about Willy + Mrazek + for Schiefle + Hellebyuck

Behind the Ducks, he's still a really good goalie.

Though, I'm just talking about acquiring a bonafide starter -- doesn't have to be Gibson.

They learned from last year and said nothing that could give the fans and media ammunition like "we have no killer instinct". The media throwing softball questions was just as embarassing.

I agree a bonafide #1 is key this summer, don’t see Willy being necessary to move to make that happen though.

That team has had one of the worst defences for 3 straight years.

It's a big gamble, but I wouldn't be uncomfortable with a trade for him.

Trotz either missed the playoffs or was out in the first round his first 11 years in Nashville, maybe it's a good comparison.

Obviously there’s a significant plus on our end, not sure which way Winnipeg wants to go with it either re tool or rebuild, maybe kerfoot maybe a first maybe Holl maybe a young guy like sandin or a combination of those cause I’m out to lunch on the values…. Schief would be a guy with fire from Ontario who would get what it means to be a leaf and succeed here. Helle is helle.
 
Nylanders all but guaranteed gone, they will say whatever to our faces but they know a major shake up is needed and Nylander is on a great contract that could net us a difference maker and depending on the contract could also open up cap space for another move.

How exactly does this moron think the bar for success this season couldn’t be lower? Everyone expected this team had to win AT LEAST one round this year. They drew Tampa. They didn’t get it done, but the bar for the season could have been a hell of a lot lower.

And the vote of confidence mostly makes sense. There will be changes though still, make no mistake about that
 
Need a #1 tender and a #1 2way D man .. hopefully we can do it sacrificing Rielly and Willy only .. but it likely takes Rielly and Mitch .. JT going nowhere .. Muzzy going nowhere .. if this is not accomplished then next season will be yet another 1st round defeat to Florida, Tampa or Boston (whoever it won't matter at all) .. team will get less regular season points but will have a better playoff roster
